For the kids, it’s a special treat to see large crocs spend the day languorously by the water. The Madras Crocodile Bank Trust and Centre for Herpetology also allows adults to volunteer and gain hands-on experience in the field. « less

It is a large bank where captive breeding and research activities are conducted. Best time to visit is during feed time. There are tiny reptiles that you can hold and it is quite exciting

It was a nice visit, we saw many crocodiles and learned a lot. We did not spent more than 1 hour in there, so I would not recommend it for a whole-day trip. The crocodile bank is closed on mondays.

Frankly, I have seen loads of zoos but this one is very different. I can bet that nobody would have seen about 400 crocodiles in a single pit lazing around! this place is decently maintained as well. I do not understand why these establishments charge a camera fee! A Must visit.

not large, but different. Worth 0.5-1 hours. There are crocks, snakes, lizzards, birds and some other animals.

If you want to see lot of crocodile, this is the correct place. You can see all kind of crocodile & alligator. They have small area where they have snakes as well. Mostly the crocodile will not be active. But if you want to see them in action, you must visit at the feeding time.

Lots and lots of crocs...all alive and hungry !! Add a few poisonus snakes, including the Royal Kind Cobra, to the list, I am sure your kids would be really excited to visit the place and catch a glimpse.

Watching different varieties of crocodiles is really a wonderful experience. To keep such a large number of varieties in good numbers in each species in itself is a stupendous effort. One particular variety is a one tonner and imagine how much food this single Beema will require a day if it is to be fed with 2% of his weight. These perfect peaceful...
