Description: Originally started with a more serious conservation point of view...
Originally started with a more serious conservation point of view, Crocodile Bank is now the weekend spot for a fascinating day of herpetology. For the kids, it’s a special treat to see large crocs spend the day languorously by the water. The Madras Crocodile Bank Trust and Centre for Herpetology also allows adults to volunteer and gain hands-on experience in the field.

Went to this place with my family. My son had a ball of a time. We had not seen so many crocs and alligators together at the same time ever. We also had a chance to see the feeding of the crocs in one enclosure. Wow. The way they fought for food. Enjoyed the fights. One of the enclosures had... More

If you like sivering at the sight of hundreds (at least it looks like there are hundreds!) of crocodiles inside a sand pit, this is the right place to be. Since this park is located outside the city - actually it is en route to Mahbalipuram and Pondicherry - it is best done on a weekend, along with VGP Golden... More

You can enjoy plenty of healthy Crocodiles in this park. This park is located on East Coast Road (ECR) on Chennai - Mahabalipuram road. Worth place to visit along with children.

In Chennai, it is very difficult to have and maintain these many species of Crocodiles! Crocodile Bank - located in ECR road. It is a must to watch attraction for children and families. They have around 20 types of Crocodile and few huge crocodiles! Its really nice to watch the animals in the exhibit. In some places, it will be... More

This is one place which you should not miss. Every where you see it is crocodiles. The view is great. There are some ponds where you will not see the pond but filled with only crocodiles. At pre-specified time they have a show of taking venom from snakes. You can even touch the snakes during that time. Do not miss... More

I had read about the Whittaker effort to build a sizable crocodile population in India. On our way from Chennai to Mahabalipuram, we decided to visit this place. I had not seen many crocodiles till then and did not even know that many species of these mammals existed. Thousands of crocodiles have been bred in captivity and then released to... More
