For the kids, it’s a special treat to see large crocs spend the day languorously by the water. The Madras Crocodile Bank Trust and Centre for Herpetology also allows adults to volunteer and gain hands-on experience in the field. « less

A 'must visit' place if you live in Chennai or you have kids and you are visiting Chennai… Every time i visit am amazed at the number of crocs housed in that place! Well maintained, well documented - name plates with explanations about the species (engaging not just for the kids, but also the adults), friendly staff who are willing... More

Since we were staying in Highland Bay View Resort, which was just very close by at walking distance, we paid a visit to this place but enjoyed thoroughly. Experience was something like watching Animal Planet on TV but truely live.

This is a place to see if you are in the area. There are plenty of Crocs to see. The explanations panels in ftont of the pens were clear and useful, which is rare in India. We just found that the parking charge was just a money grab.

The Crocodile Bank has loads and loads of crocs, of various varieties from all over the world. Not very well maintained per se, the tidiness of the place can improve as far as the washrooms & eateries are concerned. As far as the crocs & snakes are concerned, has plenty of them !! Overall a pretty good place for killing... More

On the way to Mahabalipuram, I remembered this place and stopped for a quick peek. It is exactly as I remembered as a child. A lot of crocodiles, interesting information, and a little icky feeling. My companions enjoyed it too.

It is a rear collection of crocs and should be visited to see the large collections of crocs and different species. The place is little away from the chennai city and can be combined as a picinis too
