Amber is the nose of Jaipur. This town is older than Jaipur and has a rich historic value. The sound and light program in the evening sums up the historical events of India. Elephant rides to the fort are most sought after although one can take a car to the top. A must see.

There's no denying this is a very impressive site with stunning architecture and views, but my visit was tarnished by very disrespectful behaviour from the staff within the complex. At one point during my visit I encountered a group of security people who stopped me from seeing the vast majority of the upper level of the fort, stating the reason... More

So rich in history. It is just amazing how the craftsmen of old could do so much just by hand. One disappointment is there are what seemed like staff members asking for tips

Fantastic views, incredibly built fort with beautiful architecture. We recommend spending at least 2 hours at the fort, there is lots to see. Don't miss it if you are in Jaipur.

Located on hill as usual, have great sculpture. One of kind sheesh mahal. Lot of hidden paths (surang). It is said that it has lot of precious items and hidden sculpture. Belongs to one of most rich kingdoms. Mysterious yet charming.

Amer should be the of the first place to visit in Jaipur. There are many modern construction and many off beat buildings but Amber fort gives you real idea how kingdom were protected from enemies and how those were built 500 years ago.It was big enough to accommodate military with food and making comfortable...This place is nothing great but it's the... We visited Amer Palace on 2/Apr 2014. Amer Palace (also pronounced as Amber) is located in Amer 11 kilometres from Jaipur. It is the principal tourist attractions in the Jaipur area, located high on a hill. You can take a ride on an elephant to reach the fort. The fort has inumerable number of courtyads and mahals inside each with... More

The temple draws millions. Tourists flock to see the architectural beauty and vast expanse. Stories are told excitedly which film was shot here.

We arrived at the main gate of the fort by the elephant ride. Very nice experience. Than before entering the big door we had the chance to enter and visit the Kali temple next to the main entrance. It was very interesting in seeighing many pilgrims praying and asking for the holy water and the fire to cover by the... More

This place is nothing great but it's the best historical place in the town. Not so well maintained and poorly marketed. Go early morning in summers by 7 or so. And by 8 in winters to enjoy best. Do take elephant ride from base and a guide for the fort.
