After the Taj Mahal, this is the next best site to see in the Golden Triangle of Northern India. We had a private guide, and it would not be as informative and enjoyable without one. We did not do the traditional entrance by riding one of the highly decorated elephants, but we got some great photos of those who did.... More

Entry is 200 RP per adult or 100 per student. I regret not hiring a guide, as there are not many signs, and I felt that I would really like to understand more about the history of this place to get the most out of the visit. It is a huge place, and quite difficult to find your way around... More

A guide talked about the forts' historic significance. It is quite an impressive place and the restoration has been executed beautifully. I did not ride an elephant to the fort. I took a tuk tuk and it was fine. The vendors are aggressive, and bothersome. But, ignoring them entirely, works pretty well.

To reach this impressive Palace, you either go by taxi, then get an Elephant with one partner, or get there all the way by the taxi. Taxi rentals are simple 20 Dollars per day, with Maximum 100 KM. Drivers always always always try to drive through too much longer ways to exceed this 100 KM, and suddenly their knowledge of... More

Nice view, good to take a government guide, he helps you to take pics too. Please dont go to the market below Amar Palace as they are really high priced. Same stuff you will find in Zohari Bazaar for half the price.

Beware of hawkers which are a pain apart from the snake charmer. The elephant ride up to the fort was a novelty and fun giving us great views. We were lucky our elephant driver although he had a stick didn't use it on the elephant however lots of the drivers DID use their sticks. Being blessed in the Hindu temple... More

I ever visited this type of palaces, its is very huge and i dont know how many years it took for construction and how much money they incurred. Hope to get world Heritage property. Indian government has to safeguard old Palaces and Forts.
