Have travelled Mumbai to Goa on this route & the route is beautiful.Lush greenery, specially just after the rainy season,it is fun for a short or overnight trip. We also got down at Ratnagiri station & bought mangoes while travelling in summers.

One of the most scenic travel routes in India. It is a long route connecting small towns and big cities on the Konkan coast of western India covering the states of Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka. The train travels along the scenic mountains of Western Ghats, beautiful coasts, picturesque villages and long tunnels, which are the highlight of the journey!

But if you want to go to South Goa like us, choosing Janshatabdi was not a wise decision as we had to pay Rs 840 to go to Colva beach. For North Goa, get down at Thivim and that should be good....
