Shopping in Mumbai is a memorable experience as one wanders through its bazaars with charming names like Chor Bazar, Mutton Street and Zaveri Bazar. Chor Bazaar is believed to have the original name Shor Bazaar or the Noisy Market, that aptly described the yelling and shouting of the local traders on Mutton Street while selling their second hand house hold... If you're looking for antiques this is the spot! We went to visit out of curiousity. Needless to say we were not looking for any grandfather clocks, old chocolate tins, ornate statues, mini perfume bottles or any such random items - but if ever we were, this is where we'd go! An entertaining walk that should take you no longer... More

It was scary there with all cars and bikes sqweezing between crowds of people on narrow streets. I was happy to get out of that district and feel safe again

There are a number of things you can buy here- paintings, books, pens, swords, cameras, army badges, brooches, compasses, figurines, clocks, stamps, coins, furniture pieces and so on. They are beautiful to see and cheap to buy,... More

For anyone who has ever found antique shops to be romantic, mysterious and maybe even a little mystical, Chor Bazaar is one of the coolest places in India. A whole neighborhood - of several streets - dedicated to nothing but antiques, mostly from the British Raj era. All in pokey little shops, just like antique stores should, with everything from... Mumbai offers a fabulous range of shopping experiences: from upmarket boutiques for the trendy shopper to quaint local markets hawking all sorts of merchandise at rock bottom prices. But the one that takes the cake is the flea-market which goes by the moniker "Chor Bazaar". Its located on Mutton Street and its Mecca for wannabe Indiana Jones'. Literally translated, the... More
