I have to say that this church was a welcome sight. First off it was lovely, but it was also a great place to sit down out of the rain and have a few moments of silence. The church was very clean and very large and airy.

Be sure to walk up front. On the right hand side is a special pew that has a plaque to designate where Mother Theresa sat.

After having coffee at Starbucks across the street we stopped by to take a look inside. The church is well maintained and they had a lot of parishioners inside. I usually look to see if they have a gift shop so I could send some items to my mother who is a devout Catholic, but I did not see one.

The historic beauty of this Cathedral is gripping. Once you step in you would want to stay on more than a minute. The hymns and Psalm resound, giving it a soul.

This is an island of tranquility in the midst of chaotic mumbai. While the cathedral is very simple and plain, it's still a joy to see such a lovely building in this utterly ugly part of Mumbai. Still, the acoustic in the cathedral is not great, and that's putting it mildly.

I was on a walking tour towards Horniman circle, not planning to go inside, but on the way the impressive clock tower & beautiful architecture attracted me. The gate was welcoming & I went inside. I was not disappointed. The sculpture are very beautiful, and the church is equally beautiful interior & exterior. My advice: take a 10 minutes walk... More

An artists delight! The paintings and Fresco's here are truly amazing. A similar architecture and interior can be found at St. Aloysius Chapel in Mangalore

The area Churchgate gets its name from the western gate of the Fort (of Bombay) which was in front of St Thomas Cathedral. Even today, when one stands at the entrance of the cathedral, one can see the Churchgate railway station straight through. This church is now one of the key institutions of the Indian Christian community.

Some of the best tourist sites are in the VT-Churchgate corridor. This church is also one of them. A huge structure tells you about the past existence of Britishers in India. I have never been inside the church, though I had been to Mumbai several times, therefore can’t tell how it looks from inside. It appears huge from outside.
