It is surprising a developed town now, considering its location. everything is available from brands to banks. It becomes very crowded on weekends and people may experience some traffic jams on small areas. As with all small indian cities, signboards are missing or hidden under another sign.

Alibag, an hour from Mumbai, is a paradise for photography enthusiasts in addition to being a quick-reach short inexpensive holiday destination for a winter weekend. We'd taken a ferry early in the morning from the Gateway and reached Mandwa from where we had to take a bus that was arranged for by the ferry transporter themselves. The bus ride to... More

20 Kms. away from Alibag after rewdanda is a small village named ‘ Salav ‘ on the Alibag – Roha route. It is a temple built in pure milk white marble and its dome can be seen from a long distance also. It can be reached by road or by climbing the steps. While climbing the temple steps one is always... More

I read about Salt rim in April 14 issue of Filmfare. I stayed there with my family in Sept 14. Though the location of the bungalow is amazing there is nobody in the vicinity for about 1 km on both the sides. I felt a bit insecure! The beach is rocky and hence not safe to enter the sea. The... If you are living in Mumbai and want to spend a good weekend with friends then Alibaug is the place. Rental rooms are easily available and you can book on the spot by striking a fair dear. You can bargain a bit. The place has a clean beach and is a good visit place with friends. I've been two times... More
