The pictures on the internet site let your imagination run wild about a wonderful holiday in a Portuguese style villa perched on the edge of the coastline, and it is almost that. The location is amazing and with the right kind of amenities and services it would be a great weekend getaway. Alas..in reality we had a contrary experience. This is... More

It was quite a time I had taken my family out. So I decided to take them to the Alibag as I was recommended by one of my office colleagues who had visited this place. My family enjoyed the coastline, clean beaches and the water sports in this area.

The journey to Alibag is awesome if you are travelling on the catamaran/jetty service from Gateway. Its better to take the non-AC ferry service as you can get a better view of the sea and the wind blowing into the face gives a great feeling. The trip through road will take close to 3 hrs while one can reach Alibag... More

Alibag is a place of good beaches. I stayed here in Mauli village - a farm house A/C accommodation. Overall experience is very good. Nearby attractions are Murud-Jinjira Fort. Take care of High tide & low tide timings. Nagaon Beach is also good which is near Alibag.

Since Mumbai doesn't have any good beach for swimming and water sports, the locals head out to Alibaug to enjoy the sea. It is a good drive along the coastline. There are also ferries upto Alibaug from the boat jetty near the Gateway of India.

Nice beach with very big coconuts that are stomach fillings there. There is a fort which can be reached via boats, horses or in the evening when the water tide decreases. its fun to see water level declining from 1 pm onwards.

Located within 100kms from Mumbai is this one of the many weekend getways from Mumbai. U can take up a catamaran from Gateway of India which drops you to Mandwa and they take u to Alibag in their buses from there. Alibag has a nice beach and a fort which can be reached by small boats from the beach. it... More
