This is supposed to be a historical spot of the freedom struggle. It has been refurbished a bit, but occupies a lot of space in downtown Mumbai.

While walking to Starbucks which is down the street I came across the fountain. It is well maintained with no litter around it and the garden is kept up. It's a nice place to take a picture amongst the hustle of the city.

Surrounded by neogothic buildings the flora fountain is one ove the "must see" places in mumbai. However first time visitors to mumbai should know that this is a great place to buy books as well. Under the arcades on the left hand side of the square (going south) you will find the best book shop in mumbai, kitab khana. This... More

The historic flora tower at Hutatma Chowk is surrounded by beautiful historic buildings of the bygone colonial era. This area is best to discover on foot, walking past the heritage structures for good photography.

If you are coming to Mumbai (Bombay), you have to come and see this & take a picture in front of this to remind you of your trip. Ill maintained and surrounded by horrible planning. But this is at the heart of South Mumbai. If you haven't seen South Mumbai you have not seen MUMBAI itself. Explore the 6 km... More

It is located right in the center of an extremely busy street of Mumbai and yet its stands beautifully above everything that is muddled around it. The traffic is chaotic in the place and the noises of the vehicles and the vendors tend to deafen you but still I would say that the fountain has a charm that should not... More

Such a shame that this fountain has been neglected by the Indian government. The fountain itself is beautiful and set in the heat of Colaba, but it doesn't work and isn't kept well at all. A let down really.

Its a very old monument, but in poor state. Needs a fresh coat of paint as its surface has turned darker and flithy. Theres no water in the fountain, only on special occassions the authorities open the water. Its in a sad state

Although utterly dirty (as are the streets surrounding it), this is actually a lovely fountain to gaze at for a minute or two. Although it's quite difficult to phase out all the horrible traffic noise, it's still worth trying, just to take a glimpse at the fountain - which is dry, by the way.
