Good old charm of South Mumbai

Nice old building from the british period. Very crowded on almost all days, best to visit on a Sunday morning or late night.

Though it is thing of past but roaming on street for window shopping was an amazing experience of my childhood. It is one location which will tell you about Mumbai's past and present. It is land mark that have many high end activities like BSE, Tata House and HSBC building. Amazing carving and beautiful landmark, indeed.

The Flora Fountain is about 160 year old monument at heart of South Mumbai made out of white stone. I visited the landmark this morning. Due to monsoons and flow of water the surface has become greyish is some of the places. However the majestic statue atop of the structure command respect. Being Sunday the traffic was low and visitor... More

I visited this place last month. Even though it was a hot day, the evening was pleasant and the fountain was visually pleasing as always. There are a few beautiful buildings in the surroundings but this fountain is a masterpiece architecture and reminded us of British era. If you go by this busy, bustling place, you will be amazed by... More

Flora fountain could become as smart and beautiful and culturally alive as similar sites in Europe. The street architecture is superb, the place hums with activity. It would be great if there were pavement promenades and cafes where people and tourists could sit down, order a capuccino and do some people gazing. This is the 'centrum' of an international city,... Everyday I go to work near this place. It is one of the old landmarks in Mumbai, but don't expect it to be a tourist attraction, as it is a bustling place where thousands throng for work as so many banks are located in the area..

The fountain is located in the middle of a busy junction but is well worth the effort as its a great piece of sculpture.

I rather like this fountain, it pleases me to sit of the benches that are close by and just drift a little. People mock its architectural mixed bag design, suggesting that it was compiled by a committee. Maybe but good fun in a zone of dense traffic.

This is old downtown Bombay. It is a bustling area where you can find good shopping in stores like Fab India, the Khadi Bhavan, a huge govt. operated collective where you can purchase home made "khadi" cloth from cotton or silk (which has been spun in the homes on looms in the style of the type Mahatma Gandhi used and...
