If you have been to Delhi's Janpath market, and CP nearby then you know what to expect from this place. Its walking distance from Gateway from India, and you get all what you need. Negotiation hard is the de facto requirement here.

It's cheap and trendy and so Bohemian. Best Street shops in the city..and you can bargain forever... Shop till you drop and when you're too tired gorge on rolls and kebabs nearby. And then walk back those calories to the station by following the enigmatic Victorian trail surrounded by grand architectural marvels.

I stayed in Colaba and enjoyed the proximity to the main architectural sight seeing buildings, the Victoria Terminus and Churchgate Train Stations which will get you anywhere in Mumbai you like to go, and the resturants. It loss of the feel of "Shantaram" days of the 1980s but then most places in the world have loss the native touch to... More
