I have seen few zoos and it stands out for the way its organized. You'll find mostly expected or well known animals and very good variety of birds. It was hot summer but trees were very helpful, there was small fountain also where people enjoyed and was a bit relief to be near water. Animals are open to adoption and... More

We went during Christmas holidays and there was huge rush all over the place. Just after entrance they have golf cart but it was fully booked for next 3 hrs. One has to start walk from giraffe arena and then move to various zones. Highlight was anaconda in snake arena.

In fact , this is rated as the best zoo in the country repeatedly. It is also one of the biggest zoos in the country(sixth biggest) and the walk can take even 2 hours or more. There are a lot of species of animals in the zoo. Must visit even if you are in Mysore only for a couple of... More

good showing of large cats, elephants and giraffes. the zoo is well kept and clean. very wide display of animals which seem to have plenty of room and food. good display and explanatory boards. it is quite a long way round (between 4 and 5 miles if you fully explore) in the heat but there is plenty of tree shelter.

Nice zoo in Mysore with a pretty god collection of birds and reptiles...The carnivores are just a handful though.. Have a good policy on plastic management.. Make sure you have a cap if you are planning a noon visit..

This is by far the best maintained Zoological gardens of the country. The variety of animals it houses makes it unique. The latest addition being the Anaconda. The tigers. the elephants, the leopards, the zebra, the giraffe, the Rhino..... the list is endless. A must watch for all ages.

Mysore zoo is a wonderful zoo for kids to spend some time. It has wide variety of animals and birds. You can see the zoo by walking along the road. Alternatively they also have battery operated vehicles. You can cover the entire zoo by taking a ride in one of these battery operated vehicles. They start from main gate and... More

All I can say is wow... wow. I went there with my mind made up that it will be boring and quite a normal zoo, with too many birds and less of other animals. But I was completely amazed with the size of the zoo, it is huge. 2-3 hours is still less to visit the zoo. You will find... More
