Beautiful Temple to visit. The road to the hill top leading to the Temple is excellent. You can view the whole Mysore City from the road and from the Temple premises. Many people try a trek in the morning or in the evening.

If you are in Mysore for any length of time then get yourself up the Chamundi Hill. You can walk up the 1000 steps from near the racecourse past the giant Nandi bull, or if sensible get a bus/car/tuk tuk. Besides great views over the city of Mysore you have the wonderful golden temple and "life Jim, but not as... More

Temple is one of the Ashta Dasha Shakthi Peethas with Mahabaleshwara temple, one of the oldest temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. One has to experience the divine energy.

Though its about 45 minutes on a car from the city, I would recommend going here. The view from the top is pretty good. Situated atop one of the seven tallest peaks in southern India, this is abode to the powerful Goddess Shakti, the reigning deity of the Mysore royal family. The darshan of the Goddess in the sanctum sanctorum is energizing. The view from the top is breathtaking and you get a panoramic glimpse of the city. The view is gorgeous at night... More

Monkeys are fun to watch playing and trying... More
