This Ashram is situated a few kilometers outside Mysore city but one should surely include it in the itinerary. Call the Ashram ( contact number is available on their website) before you visit, to confirm the timings and whether its open to visitors on that particular date. Make your arrangements accordingly. One needs a minimum of 3 hours to explore... More

The birds here, i don't think such an exotic collection is displayed anywhere else in India. Also the temples and the garden. Absolutely fabulous. Spare some hours people. Ashram is a sprawling complex on the outskirts of the city housing a temple, ashram , parrots park, bonsai garden and herbal garden. The most enjoyable place is the parrots park open in the forenoon and afternoon for 3 hours each, this pace should not be missed. There are more than 300 species of Wild parrots and macaws from Africa... More

The Shuka Vana has exotic birds in cages and some are left to fly in the open. You can even hold the birds and take a cool pic. Not many tourists know about this place but I would rate it as one of the best attractions of Mysore. They also have a beatiful bonsai garden inside.

I am glad to see that Sachidananda Ashram (as called by the locals) has earned a 5 star rating in Tripadvisor and this place truly deserves it. Being a local I have been seeing how this ashram has been constantly growing in attracting more and more tourists. What's inside: For the religious: A Big Venkateshwara Temple and a Monolith Anjaneya... More

We spent lots of time in sukhavana. Place is very well maintained. Lots of Birds especially parrots . They don't allow you to take your photos, but already have photography from them for a charge. You can feed the birds also. Timings is 9to 1 pm and 3 to 5. Recommended to visit is morning.
