Situated on the NH 212 towards Nanjungud/Ooty a very beautiful temple complex called the SGS ashram. They have a similar ashram in Girinagar Bangalore as well but this one in Mysore is much bigger. This is a sprawling complex with a huge Hanumanji statue among a cluster of temples. Very clean and serene. Must visit if you are in Mysore.

I stayed for ten days in the ashram's foreign guest quarters, "Angel's Hall". Lodgings are not open to casual visitors but generally only to devotees or those who are interested in knowing more about the swami and his work. The main temple is open to the public and faces Ooty Road (special puja is done every Friday morning between 8-10),... More

Seeing the huge Monkey God sculpture and temple, the Bonzai Garden and another large prayer hall near the Ashram was wonderful. The free cup of tea was excellent. Very convenient to the city. It is easy to spend several hours walking around there. Well kept and clean.

My husband and I are very blessed to know Sri Sri Ganapathi Sachchidananda Swamiji, the Sadguru, who started this beautiful Ashram. I was born in America to Indian parents, and they used to take me here during many summer vacations as a child. It is amazing to gain a solid foundation in spirituality and by visiting this Ashram, you will... More

This place is must among the local Mysore visits. The lord Srinivasa is standing with almost calm and piece and joined by a huge hanuman standing. It will be fulfilling to watch this serene temple and the prasada is quite tasty and yummy.

Living in Mysore, I have visited this place quite a few times. Like any other ashram, here you find a Swamiji (saint), a few temples - for Balaji, Dattathreya, Navagraha, lingas made of different gem stones, Moolikeshwara statue, Dharma dhwaja and a nada mantap (music hall). The recent addition is the monolithic statue of Hanuman; in other places you may... More

This Ashram spread over a huge complex, houses Lord Venkatesswara temple, the deity almost similar to the one at Thirumala . Adjacent mammoth Anjaneya Idol towers upto 70 feet in height is an added attraction to this devine place .
