We went on the Elements Tour with Vidya and the cycling Vintage Mysore Tour with Ananth on the following morning, and were lucky enough to be the only two people being shown around. Both guides were very helpful and knowledgeable, and answered all of our questions. This is a very good way of learning about the city and finding your... More

We booked the 'Elements' tour at short nice and it was great; very interesting, well paced and a good variety of delicious street food (more than enough for dinner!). I'm not going to reveal all the details as part of the fun was not knowing what was coming up - but truly if you're looking at this because you're found... More

I had a great time with Ananth and a lovely couple for the Best of Mysore Walk. It was great timing (morning) so it was not too hot walking around, and Ananth was a great guide, well prepared, personable and provided many tidbits that the general visitor/foreigner to Mysore would not know. Going to the market with him was wonderful... More

it was lovely to be shown round Mysore in such a friendly and informative way. We would never have seen half as much if we had been on our own. A great way to get an overall impression of the city, it's customs and history and to see modern life! Best of all was the fantastic market.

We enjoyed three different experiences with Royal Mysore Walks. The visit to Chamundi Hill avoided the large and relatively new temple that everyone seems to visit and instead we went to one of the oldest, a complete contrast to its larger, brighter more ornate neighbour. Here the simplicity of the buildings added to the peace of the place, a refuge... More

This was an excellent way to learn more about Mysore history than we could ever have found in a guidebook. I had no idea Napoleon was planning to come to Mysore and aid Tipu Sultan in his fight against the British! Our guide Vidya kept things interesting, lively and fun. With her excellent English and great knowledge of the city... More

Me and my boyfriend went on an afternoon/evening walk with Vishwas (we chose the Elements tour) and really enjoyed every minute. Being foodies and indian food lovers this tour was perfect for us, as we got to taste the most delicious sweets, fruits and street food and the best lassi we had in India. We probably wouldn't have adventured in... More

We booked the Elements Tour with Royal Mysore Walks and ended up being the only ones on this walk, hence having a very personal tour of the city which included, as announced, an historical aspect, a tour of the main market and some food testing of the Mysore specialties. Vidya has an excellent guide and we learned a lot about... More

Best way to spend a couple hours in Mysore. East 2.5 hour walk around the Royal palace and bazaar. Tidbits of history about the city, it's British rule and even how it links back the the United states was wonderful. This group are truly professional and very well educated. This is a must!

I stayed 2 weeks with my friend ( a born and raised local). She booked the walking tour as a way to show off her town. It was an easy pace and distance. It was so informative that even my friend learned things she did not know about her hometown. The guide (Vidaya) was charming, fun and well prepared. I... More
