that we had with Vinay from Royal Mysore Walks. We started at Wellington Lodge with some history stories (which brought together the Duke of Wellington, Tipu Sultan and Napoleon) and then headed to the famous Devaraja market. On the way we stopped at a streetside temple, to assist a puja ritual. Devaraja is surely one of the loveliest markets one... More

Such an excellent experience! Vinay met me on my first afternoon in Mysore and we visited several important cultural and historical sights while telling the story of the local history, the arrival of the English and the death of Tipu Sultan. Standing on the battlements of the fortress at Seringapatam in the glow of the late afternoon sun, one could... More

Wonderful way to look at some history of Mysore with Vidya, who lead the tour comprehensively. Tour was very interesting and informative. Vidya was very enthusiastic and vivacious, leading the tour gently without making any hurry though in the prime time of the city, especially while explaining about the market and its speciality. I loved the tour utmost and moreover... More

Having read the rave reviews of Royal Mysore Tours on TripAdvisor, we went in with sky high expectations. Luckily we were not disappointed. Our tour guide was Vidya and our tour was the Elements Tour (combination of history + Mysore market + food tour). The entire tour was run very professionally and moreover Vidya our tour guide was fantastic. Not... More

We took the Royal Mysore walks cycling tour. Both of us being biking enthusiasts, cycling tour was our first choice. But we liked some bits of the walking tour and wanted it included in our cycling tour. They understood what we wanted and customized a fabulous tour for us! Biking in the early hours on Mysore's empty streets, feeling the... More

I did the Royal Mysore 2 hr walking tour which I thought was absolutely fantastic. No endless boring dates or hard to follow commentary. The team have worked hard to create a 'human-interest' history tour which includes interesting side stories and trivia. My guide (who spoke perfect english) even had laminated pictures to compliment his explanations. I got so much... More

Vidya is much more than a guide. She is a fabulous storyteller! She understands what we are interested in. She is deeply proud of the culture and history of Mysore and transmits it with enthousiasm. We had a great time on our walking tour in Mysore. Great local breakfast. Thanks again. Odette (Paris) and Muriel (Montreal)

We had a great experience with Royal Mysore Tours from start to finish. Booking was a breeze and we were given good advice on which tour to book. We chose the Elements Tour, which included some history, the market, and the food tour. Our guide was fantastic and was a great story teller so the historical part of the tour... More

We had a brilliant couple of days with V biking, walking and eating our way around Mysore. It is a really interesting and intimate tour and you feel like your really getting off the beaten track and getting a true taste of local life. I would highly recommend it to anyone!

We took the "Best of Mysore" Tour from Royal Mysore Walks on the 7th ob Feb this year. Together with our tour guide Vidya, we took a 4 hour trip through the historical and present Mysore, which we really enjoyed a lot. Vidya was a lot of fun and could answer all of our questions - and we did ask... More
