A beautiful man made lake. Calm, quiet and serene. Do carry plenty of drinking water and snacks if you are visiting this place, as there are very few shops around. Weekends are very crowded at times.

This lake is a scenic beauty and when it is full and overflows into the channel it offers free Jacuzzi. Also the sight is breathtaking, the wast waters along the rocks is a sight not to miss.

The location of the lake is very important factor to give the visitor such an unusual look and scenic feast. The sun set behind the adjacent hills in the evening is really breathtaking. Approach to the place and facilities around the lace are lacking.

Peaceful place to hangout in the weekend, huge serene artificial lake, with really calm waters. Also called the moti talab. You might get lucky to see a water sports company organizing some rides, but it doesn't function on most days of the year. The lake is surrounded by vast sugar cane fields and traditional jaggery making houses, where you can... More

We visited Thonnur several times in the last 5 years. I visit the place to afford a little peace and tranquility after an agitated week. It is situated around 45 kms from Mysore and 10 km from Pandavpura on the road to Melukote. The lake is very large and sitting by the benches gives you solace. There are three ancient... More

Had been to Thonnur lake with my friends... we settled on the backside of the lake.. which has white sand and a very good view to the lake. Krishna ( who takes care of that place)helped us with some firewood for campfire and we started campfire immediately after the sunset... the sunset view from that place is memorable one.
