I visited this place many years ago with my collage friends, As per the history and people stay near by villages, The god is very powerful and you can notice mist/water on the stone above the head of the god(so the god is called Himada Gopalswamy Temple). In morning times occasionally elephants use to visit this place and there is... More

This temple was built by the Hoysala King Ballala during AD 1315. Later the Wodeyars Wodeyar dynasty of Mysore who were ardent devotees of Lord Venugopala displayed keen interest in maintaining the hill temple.[3] The temple is dedicated to Gopalaswamy, which is one of the names of the Hindu God Krishna. The gopuram of the temple is single-tiered and rests... More

Had to pay Rs. 20 per head. For those who suffer from motion sickness like me while driving around the hills...you can relax. You... More

Awesome place if you visit during the right time and if luck is with you. When clouds descend, the place turns into something magical. The temple is a good visit.

67 kms from Mysore. Most of the travellers to Mysore are in fact not aware of this beautiful place. You will have the best experience of the chilled weather with fog surroundings during day time. I advise travellers to reach this place at arround 10 or 11 in the morning.

Himada or Himavad Gopalswamy is a temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. This is located near Gundlupet in the district of Chamarajnagara, Karnataka. This temple is situated on a hill which is about 2800 meters above the Sea level. The surrounding areas has a lot of greenery which makes our hearts very pleasant. Lot of fog can be felt here throughout... More

The hills, surroundings are great. One can find mist here, atleast to some extent almost all the time. This place has an evergreen set of mountains all around. There is one temple at the top. It's a fabulous place for everyone from adventure seekers to the normal people. Roads are really bad till top. Some 7kms of road to the temple is... More
