Gopalswamy Betta is located off the Mysore Ooty highway. This is a 8 km detour from the main highway, and a real gem of a place at the top. The temple at top is dedicated to Lord Gopalswamy and is called Himavad Gopalswamy betta. The reason it is called so, is inside the sanctum santorum, you will always find dew... More

This seven hundred year old temple situated very close to Bandipur National Park. Whenever you are going to Bandipur or Ooty Via Mysore ( from Bangalore ) or Gundalpet ( from Kerala ) this place is an extra asset to your trip. This is situated in a beautiful hill near Bandipur National Park. I am not much aware about the... More

I have visited this place twice. I am in awe of the nature around the temple. Uphill road to the temple is very calm, quite. You can enjoy tranquility at its best. After driving for around 20 to 25 minutes from base near bandipur, you reach the hilltop and you are welcomed with windy atmosphere. Feels like heaven. Generally you... More

This trip to the temple I had my camera. The priest did the blessings in English for me as well. We ride there on our bike and if we stopped I promise I could hear elephants trumpeting. It is the most beautiful drive and one I plan on taking again and again from Mysore. This time returning I was engaged... More

Thoroughly enjoyed the drive uphill to the temple complex through calm, green and rugged terrain. Very tranquil place and makes for good photo-ops.

The drive from Mysore was beautiful. The nature aspect almost feels like Jurrasic Park. Ancient, quiet, peaceful. The quiet on part of the trails was deafening. No plastics allowed. There was a small fee to get into the area. There might be a fertility aspect to this temple as I have read on other sites. I saw a lot of... More
