The major attraction at Bylakuppe is Namdroling monastry (Golden Temple). The shrine here is a golden Buddha which is gigantic and absolutely stunning. Also the temple as a whole offers a great opportunity for some brilliant shots.Almost 85 kms from Mysore en route Coorg.

Temple is very huge. It is constructed in a very big area. Budha is presented in different forms in these temples. To be very frank these deities in this temple do not attract us very much as the imagination regarding lord Budha is different for Indians. The monastery is maintained neatly.

It's worth a visit for those who can not make it that far. Set in a completely isolated location, this place offers delight to every first-time visitor despite tourist influence. Seramey Monastery, a little further from the Golden temple, offers a more authentic experience. As a small note, please adhere to sensible tourism to preserve and respect the refugees. For... More

Though a must see, the golden monastery is located in Coorg. It would take approximately 90 minutes to this location from Mysore. While in bylakuppe one can enjoy the various tourist spots in Nearby Kushalnagar and Madikeri.

Bylakuppe is the second largest Tibetan settlement in India (largest being Dharmshala in HP) and we were surprised to find such a beautiful monastery in down south. The colorful temple is a visual treat and the visit inside is enough to calm your stressed nerves. We happened to be in the temple at prayer time, and hence got to witness... More

A holy place for Budhists. I would say that it is not only for Budhists but it is a place to be visited by people of all sects and relegions. One finds peace while visiting and spending some time in the Golden Temple. The statues of Lord Budha are excellent.

Loved the whole area around Bylakuppe. The Temple and grounds were very well cared for . The Temple itself is a cross between Myanmar and Chines...not as brash as Chinese Temples, but not quite as soft as Myanmar ones. Many different Buddahs ,great fabrics covering the pillars and huge majestic doors. You can enter everywhere apart from the prayer area and it is well...
