You can walk along the walls and just sit at nooks and little turrets away from the main area and watch the sunset over delhi while overlooking the delhi zoo. absolutely beautiful. They have regular shows there as well and the setting provides a beautiful backdrop to watch classical dance shows and even rock concerts. More

Once again, go if you are a History lover. It isn't as well maintained as red fort. Go with a packed lunch for a picnic if you want to9but please don't dirty the place). Visit the museum. It is fascinating More

"ruins" ! ASI takes it literally. they have ruined the great old place with nonsense restoration. underwhelming ambience all due to ASI greatness. the photographs of restoration and excavation tell a different story. those sites are not visible at all. there is a small exhibition. almost ridicules our intelligence. please go there to appreciate what our forefathers were capable of,... The Tourism Dept could have done a better job at maintaining this place. No Guides available. The place is a hunting ground for people wanting some private time. Some of the corners were stinking because people have been using it as a toilet!! More

Other reviewers have touched on the historical context. The tomb was commissioned by the forceful senior widow of the Mughal Emperor Humayun and is a precursor of the Taj Mahal. Humayun's hobby was astronomy and he died falling down stairs as he descended from his rooftop observatory. The setting is idyllic and contains a number of other interesting edifices. The... More

Old Fort popularly known as Purana Qila is noted for its massive walls and three large gateways. Humayun Darwaza, Talaqi Darwaza and Bara Darwaza are the three gates of Purana Qila and today the entrance is through the Bara Darwaza. Historians believe that the fort marked the site of Indraprastha, the capital of Pandavas. Kuhna Masjid, built by Sher Shah... More

One of the highlights of Delhi tourism is the son et lumiere “Ishq-e-Dilli” at the Purana Quila (Old Fort). An hour long light and sound spectacle showcasing the tumultuous history of Delhi through the centuries. The show goes through the annals of history with the emotional, articulate narration and interesting picture projections. Pages of history unfold with all the drama,... More

The one thing I remember most vividly about this place is the huge number of mosquitoes all over the gardens. Still a good place to relax for couples and families. The Qila is well conserved and the gardens are huge. Lot of space to walk and just chill. More
