this is one of the oldest forts in delhi. once known for boating, now this place has deteriorated and not many people prefer going there. Still, it's a decent place to hang out

Despite the recommendations of our tour guide, we insisted on visiting Purana Qila - and it was beautiful! There is an entrance fee, but first of all, the entrance and walls are breathtaking (opportunity for excellent pictures); there is a small museum inside (incl. in price), as well as a mosque, the ruins of a Hamman (that you can still... Though traveled to Delhi several times over the years never got a chance to visit the Purana Qila ever. Like most of my visits to historical monuments in India I go with no expectation in terms of the maintenance as it leaves me brokenhearted, but this fort really took me by a pleasant surprise with the overall upkeep and cleanliness... It's a Historical monument Ruined by couples visiting there. They have spoiled the walls at several places by writing names and other stuff. Still I would prefer to have a visit there as the fort is not too big and still depicts the history of Delhi. It is beside Delhi zoo so both can be visited on the same day.... More
