Built by Humayun, the son of Babar, who founded the Mughal Dynasty, and the father of Akbar the Great, this fort is not really a fort in the real sense of the word but a collection of Gates or Darwazas - a lot of the old structures and walls have been lost to the ravages of time. There is also... More

This place is a must visit. Been here since ages. Lots of history in this place. The delhi zoo is also closeby. Although i do not recommend the boating due to safety reasons.

The ruins have a very rich history. It also has a good museum. The directions on how to navigate the attraction after getting in would have been welcome. More write ups on each of the edifices within would make the place even more frequented. Perhaps a small looped video on the history and significance of the Quila would help ?

Though the old fort only has a small museum and two old structures including the library where humayun fell to his death it is well worth a visit, both buildings are architectural marvels and the ramparts are magnificent as are the grounds which seem to stretch out forever!
