Lots of artists I probably should have known--Binod Bihari Mukharjee especially--and lots that were new to me, with a wild mix of cultural influences. The lighting and the arrangement of the art could be better. Even so, I wanted to spend more time here than I was able.

Recommended by another tourist, this wonderful gallery is worth several hours, especially now while the featured exhibition of Amrati Sher-Gil's incredible talents is on! Unknown to us previously, her beautiful portraits & nudes blew us away, landscapes & still life impressive too. Hungarian born of an Indian father & Hungarian mother, trained in Paris, she spent many years painting in... More

We visited this place in the summer of 2015 and found the place very interesting. There is one floor dedicated to amrita shergill who is one of the 9 national artists of India. Before this visit, I didn't even know there was a thing called national artists of India. It is an easy drive from Delhi or gurgaon and there... More

We chose to visit the museum at the end of a long day of site seeing in Delhi, and only had an hour to run through the exhibits on the first floor. We had no expectations and no idea what we would find. Once inside we quickly realized an hour was not nearly enough time and were a little disappointed... More

Its a little secret almost, not many visitors know about this. But its great! The complex itself is big and the garden nice, and the inside leaves nothing to wish for. Great collection of modern Indian art from various artists and both permanent and changing exhibitions. It will take a full day to explore everything so dont go in a... More

In a city where historical monuments dominate a tourist’s itinerary, National Gallery of Modern Art is a destination of relative modernity, that promises visual delight to the uninitiated and provides instant inspiration to those with creativity flowing in their veins. Located at Jaipur House, it boasts of an imperious address within Lutyen’s Delhi in the proximity of India Gate. It... More

Very well maintained by Indian standards, great variety on display. But there should be more information boards for art lovers and amateurs so that they can take more from the experience. The Art Shop is worth a visit, but should stock more variety

A well and interestingly designed museum allows for pensive browsing. Both historical and modern in approach this museum has an innovative and creative area across from the newer area!
