Owner description: Finca Los Monos (the Monkey Farm) is situated on Isla Colon, the largest island in the enchanting archipelago of Bocas del Toro, , Panama. The islands enjoy a steady temperature of between 80 and 93 degrees (27 C – 33 C) all year round, with adequate rainfall to keep them lush and humid. Over the years we have created a magnificent garden with large collections of heleconias, gingers, palms, flowering trees, fruit trees, spices and ornamentals. New plants are constantly being added to the property.

My wife and I recently took the Friday morning tour. The tour lasts about 2 hours and was very enjoyable and informative. Highly recommended.

My daughter and I visited in the afternoon and had a lovely time. Lin is so full of botanical knowledge and makes the whole experience totally fascinating. Its not all about plants, there is an array of monkey, frog, insect and bird life as well as the fabulous plants and trees. Apparently they also host weddings and I really can't... More

This garden is actually part of Lynn's house. Her tour is about 2 hours long and extremely interesting. At the end she provides homemade lemon grass tea and coconut water from her garden. Worth the money and time.

We had a lovely tour with Lin during our stay in the Bocas area---she worked with us ahead of time to give us an early morning walk on a day not on her regular schedule. This is a medium easy hike through the jungle with a self-taught expert in all things jungly including local sloths, birds, butterflies, flowers and fruits,... More

Although the Gardens' website lists only certain days when it is open, we emailed and arranged with Linda (Lin) the owner to visit privately at the same time as two other people who wanted to see the gardens. Lin welcomed us and offered some insect repellent just to make sure we were comfortable on our tour, though it wasn't particularly... More

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Panama. The woman who created the garden is the tour guide and she tells a wonderful story of how it came to be. She also know every plant, where to find certain birds, and where to find monkeys. The tour ends with refreshments. It runs at least 20 hours... More

We toured Finca Los Monos in Bocas in February with some friends. The work that Lin and Dave have done to the property is amazing. To think you can transform the jungle like that is amazing. Lin's knowledge of all the plants, bugs, animals and ecosystem is amazing. Had to video tape it all just to remember!. If you are... More
