We had read on travel guides that "few escape being sea sick on the ferry". I scoffed at this, as have never been sea sick in my life, & have been on some rough seas. However, to my chagrin, I WAS SEASICK on the journey there!!! I think we made the mistake of sitting downstairs near the front of the... More

I've traveled a lot in my life from hostels to famous hotels. I've always approached everything with an open mind, but I could find zero redeeming qualities about this little Alcatraz of an island. For one the hotels are horrendous and lie repeatedly. Our hotel promised transportation(there is none on the island outside of rentals), a breakfast(soapy wet eggs and... More

I was with a group of four women friends over age 50. We flew rather than taking the boat after hearing how many people got sick on the boat. Our activities have included a bike ride around the perimeter. We rode counter clockwise. It is hilly, but pretty. We opted out of riding scooters, though everyone rides them. We enjoyed... More

Ok, the island has stunning scenery: amazing rock formations, and stunning views of the ocean from cliffs. We really enjoyed the ocean hot springs, especially at night. The snorkelling is supposed to be amazing as well, but sadly we did not get to do it. Weather was not good, and in March the ocean is still very cold so you... More

There is a beautiful song to this Island in Mandarin. My friends & I took an hour boat ride to this island from Taitung. The ride was very challenging and we learnt what people called 'bumpy'. Many of them vomited but I survived. This island is pretty remote. We travelled on electric bikes around the island. With this bike, only... More

We visited Green Island in March. The weather could have been better, but the advantage is that the number of visitors was so low that during a week day we shared the hot spring with only 3 other visitors!

Beautiful island with fantastic snorkeling / scuba diving opportunities. They have walk bridges that extend into the ocean and you can literally walk off the bridge and see lots of colorful deep ocean fish. They also have a large open hot spring area where you can go and see the sunrise. There's also a bit of history on this island... More

We just went for the day but it was gorgeous. You can rent a scooter easily and just spend all day driving around. Just a note (and I wish I could remember the name of the place) - if you don't have cash and you're using a Visa card (which I wish I had known was such a huge problem... More
