Accessing this island is pretty easy by ferry or plane from Taitung. The island itself is small enough to be able to see most of it in 2 days but you will still need a mean of transportation (scooter is the main option and there are thousands for rent next to the ferry terminal). On the island, I would recommend... More

I was there during a typhoon so the weather could have been better. Stayed at Mimi Gardens on the north coast at Guangong village - nice room, friendly people and comfortable bed. Location is a fair way from what passes for the main town so limited restaurants in walking distance. Enough things to do to keep you occupied for the... More

This little Island has its atmosphere and is worthy of visiting. Getting there by boat is easy while in our case we just bought tickets 30 min before boat departure. But it is typhoon season so maybe that is the reason. Renting scooter is must because you can ride around the island in thirty minutes.

Green Island was a BLAST. Stayed July 20 to July 24 2015. Two nights at a hostel on the EAST side of the island for TND750 per night. I just showed up without reservations either place. The hostel guy was standing on the harbor when I arrived holding a sign for hostel. He offered a motor scooter ride around the... More

We went to green island beginning of August, which we heard is peak season. Still it wasn't too crowded, might be different on weekends. Arriving in Taitung the tourist information in the station reserved our ferry tickets for the same day (and back two days later) which they said is necessary. They ride with no wind was very calm and... More

My friends and I stayed on Green Island for 2 days, and it was just the right amount of time to experience all the best parts of Green Island. We found a hostel that let you add on tour experiences for a small cost, and they provided a breakfast of boiled eggs. We chose the nighttime wildlife and snorkeling experiences.... More

This is a magical island. If you like hiking, exploring, swimming, snorkeling, hot springs, beautiful scenery, among other things, you will love it here. I wished we had more time to stay! Rent a scooter to get around the island easily. Definitely worth it. Would definitely recommend. However... BE WARNED! The ferry ride there is very rough. If you get... More

I visited Green Island on a day trip from Taitung. I took the 09:00 ferry from Taitung and 16:30 ferry back from Green Island. (I went in summer. A day trip in winter may not be feasible due to reduced ferry sailings.) I bought my round-trip ferry ticket at the travel agency outside the Fugang Harbour ferry terminal 1 day... More

I have to admit that the ferry trip (in November) was horrible, and puking was a regular sight. Once on the island though, the sea breeze clears your head. Guides are available for hire at the jetty. They can bring you to Green Island's own "Great Wall", various memorials, the old prison, and also one of the few salt-water hot... More

A gem of the South East coast. We visited in mid June. Hot in the day nice in the evening. Not very busy, easy scooter or bike riding because so few cars. Two big hills so if your on a bike it won't be easy. We rented a scooter near the ferry port. There are dozens to choose from. $300... More
