Easily accessible by road if you have transport. Has few summits for short hikes that exceeded 3000m high. The winding road could take a while to reach and can get very misty when weather is bad. Do drive slowly and carefully.

Nothing much for the 4am drive up to one of the Peak beside a hotel. And then move on to a few different peaks for the sun rise, in the end all the photos looked the same. If you are not a photography avid person, can do without this twd 400 trip.

Basically trip up the windy though well maintained road was to take the signage. For people not doing hiking, there's no point making the trip

We traveled from Hualien through the Taroko National Park then to Hehuan Mountain toward Nantou County learning that not so many people take this route even Taiwanese will not travel this path in their lifetime. The route was treacherous with some places with single passage only even the tunnels. But the views made up for the long and winding ride,... More

Very touristy and crowded. Very little management of the park and expensive souvenirs for tourists to bring home. Well trotted path up the sloops. Easy short walks. The roads are too narrow for the traffic... The visits are half day. Cater more to the mass tourist crowds. Buy souvenirs and take photo and hop onto the bus. Not much information... More

The view on the road trip is breathtaking - definitely worth the visit! It snows in December as well!

Beautiful and breathtaking view! At the time we visited, the weather was perfect: clear blue skies, cool temperature. The mountain ranges, green and perfect, were all visible. It was a perfect day for hiking. The hiking trails are well-maintained and clean. The roads leading to HeHuan Shan are something to be proud of! Well-paved and well-maintained. However, watch out for... More

We went up Hehuan Mountain , which was about 3000m above sea level, and was reputed to have very beautiful sunsets and sunrises. However, it depends on whether the weather is in your favour or not. For us, a family of 4, we booked the services of Mr Qiu, a guide who is supposed to have 20 years of experience... More

maybe the day I went up wasn't a good day. Because we unable to see the sun rise. But the stars over there are very nice. If you have no plan, can pay a visit. but make sure grab some clothes before ur visit.

Had to wake up really early to go up to the top for the sunrise. The tour cost 400nt per person. During the trip, we also managed to have pitstops to stargaze and have a cuppa coffee. The final destination of the trip was breathtaking, the sunrise across the mountains makes it worthwhile. Do bring longs and wear a jacket... More
