Sign up for the star gazing trip cum sun rise tour of the mountain. Many scenic spots for photo opportunities. Do wear thick clothings as the temperature drops as you travel higher. If you are self driving, do ask the local for advice as certain stretch of the road has traffic control. The heavy vehicles are equipped with radio sets... More

Most tourist will be here in Cingjing for the Sun rise tour organized by their minsu. area of viewing the sunrise depends on the tour as well. I visited the during the winter season, it was really cold minus 6 degree i guess. Be prepare and arm yourself well!

The peak lies on the boundaries of Nantou and Hualien counties and is within the Taroko Gorge National Park. If you visiting the Gorge you can spend some time at the peak enjoying the breathtaking views. Its fabulous. Worth the stop.

It was late afternoon when we arrived and there was drizzle on the way up to the mountain. By the time that we reached the peak, the whole view was foggy but it was still a pretty sight! Would definitely come back again and hopefully the sky would be clear!

Absolutely beautiful! The views along the way are just spectacular. Did the road in both summer and winter. The winter drive was on a motorcycle and the summer one in a car. It was freezing in winter; our eyelashes had icicles on them. Summer drive was pleasant, you get to escape Taiwan's heat. We didn't climb the steps to the... More

The view from the top of the mountain is spectacular especially on hot clear blue sky. It is so scenic up there and worth the stopover for a pictures taking. it is also very windy up on the top. Good rest before you proceed on to your next destination to Hualiein Taroko gorge.

A beautiful place to visit, it simply takes your breath away when standing at the top. Worth every minute used to drive up to the peak, of which even the drive up was scenic and enjoyable. Do bring along a jacket because it gets chilly at the top!

it's like the "mountain version" of the great ocean road (australia), with lots of "sights" to take in along the way. probably better to go by car (narrow roads) than tour bus, but can get crowded at the various sights (parking spots limited), try to go during off-peak season (week days, non- holidays) winding roads make for car-sickness, so be... Driving along Highway 14 through central Taiwan is breathtaking. The rolling mountains and winding roads offer spectacular views,a d the occasional clouds give it an ethereal feel. Even though it was 35degrees elsewhere, the higher elevations of the road (3,000m) it gets chilly (17C). Driving is the best way to explore some of the hiking trails that line the mountains... More
