It gets extremely windy and cold here [even on a normal summer's day] as the altitude change is sudden. Be prepared with windbreakers and gloves if possible. The hikes were brilliant and offered some spectacular views. On the way back from the ranges, we witnessed a sea of clouds with a full moon backdrop and that was magical. The 3158... More

Don't stay just in the main areas (with visitors' centres etc.)! Go and hike all the way up to the very top of the central peak (slowly though, because of the high altitude and low oxygen content of the air). We took 45 minutes from the beginning of the hike trail to the top, and 25 minutes to come down... More

If you like to indulge in nature and embrace cold chilling wind, then this is definitely the place to breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the scenery.

We were here when we departed from Cing Jing to Hua Lien. Nice view of mountains and roads across the mountains. Can be very cold there even there was strong sunlight. ~Please drive carefully as the roads there are rather crooked~

This is one of those places which is really dependent on luck. We were told that there had not been any sunrise for days when we were there. Nevertheless we took our chances, got our lodge owner to book a mini bus tour package for us (it starts at 4am). It was pitch black at that time on the way... More

Took a morning tour to see the sunrise at the top of Hehuansan. Freaking cold weather with greatest view. The journey was about 1 hour from Cingjing. Recommended!!!

I hired a VW T5 (9 seaters) for a day trip on 26 Feb 2015 to Hehuanshan, Cingjing farm, Mist Garden and Puli for just 2 of us – me and my wife. I did not want to use a normal car/taxi. Driver promptly picked up us at 0900 hrs from our minsu and headed onto highway to Puli.  Journey... More

What an amazing place to visit ! I could not find words to describe the scenery at the mountain top. It is a must visit in my opinion. Everything is nature. Can you imaging taking photos with sea of clouds behind and below you? The feeling of "On top of the world". Do not miss this place.

Lovely view of the surroundings. Was from Hehuan shan that I got a shot of mountains that look like watercolours. There's a certain spot where the clouds flow quickly, and look like waterfalls. Amazing.
