Quite a nice trip to the Sun Moon Lake. The cruise guide gave quite a detailed history how this place is named and it's legend. When come to Sun Moon Lake, you must eat it's famous Herbal Tea Mushroom Egg.. My guide told us, not eating it, means you never been to Sun Moon Lake.. Anyway, it's quite delicious.

Went in November 2013. It is a very beautiful lake. We took photos at the side of the bridge where my guide recommend and it was beautiful. We went to the other side of the island too but we didnt stay over for a night as we were going to another place. Maybe next time will find a hotel and... More

Delightful area - the top attraction is the lake - but there is also a lot to see around it. Wengwu temple, Tse-en pagoda, hot springs, boat rides, hike, bike and just drink in that wonderful scenery. Try to go for more than just a day visit

Instead of visiting the crowded pier, Chenian visitor center is your top choice. The award-wining building offer the unique view of the historical place. Liaw, an english speaking driver, can take you to these places at reasonable price. mr.Liaw, a retired college professor, would like to share his home town with you.

Sun Moon Lake has always been one of the top visiting destinations in Taiwan due to not only to its natural beauty but also its historical importance. You should spend at least one night here, either take a walk along the several hiking trails or even rent a bike around the lake for around 2-3 hours. The local foods are... More

We spent one night at Sun Moon Lake but could have easily stayed for longer. We travelled with our two children (4 and 2) and they both really enjoyed the lake area. On our arrival, we picked up two bikes that were capable of carrying the children and took a 10km ride partially around the lake (I believe the whole... More

The lake is beautiful, different sights of the lake at different times of the day. The lake is quiet especially at the Ita Shao area. Great place to do cycling and enjoy the marvellous views of the lake at different points.
