Beautiful view despite the rain

The weather was bad but that did not stop me and my family from visiting. The view was fantastic but of course it would have been better if you come for sunset or sunrise.

Sun Moon Lake is great for a weekend getaway from Taipei. I would recommend staying on Ita Thao rather than on the other side of the lake. It can be dangerous to bike all around the like, as the bike path stops part way. You aren't allowed to swim in the lake, but it is still fun to take a... More

I live in Taichung and from here it takes 2 hours by bus that costs you 400 NT both ways (13$). I have been to Sun moon lake several time and i describe this place as an absolute tranquility with very peaceful and pleasant environment. If you are travelling for a day trip, then one visit is not enough, although... More

This lovely lake is surrounded by mountains often cloaked in cloud. There are biking and hiking trails, any number of boating adventures, and quite a few hotels both in the moderate range and the high end. This is a frequent choice for weddings and honeymoons and one can easily see how the setting would be a wonderful backdrop for the... More

Beautiful lake surrounded by greenery with floating clouds above. Visited this lake a few times but do not feel the atmosphere boring but inspiring. One of the good place to view the lake is from the top of Wen Wu temple or the hill behind it.

Some of the tourist information staffs were not available to speak English! However, the lake was really nice, beautiful, and peaceful especially in the morning - it's the best time to walk around the nature trail near the lake, worth to wake up early.
