The Royal palace has been absorbed into the main attraction of Kandy; the temple of the Tooth. it is hard to distinguish what was the royal palace and what is part of the rather large temple complex. All the same the temple and the adjoining buildings are well worth a visit.

Worth the visit, we were there at 6:30pm for the ceremony and the fact that it was sunset made the whole palace even more beautiful! We had a guide who explained very well all that there is to know about the palace. He was helpful and friendly. During the ceremony, it was impressive, and highly interesting. Just be a bit... More

This place gives you a clear picture how the ancient sinhalese people used to live. and added to that you will be able to see the kings clothes. you will be amazed how big they were.

If you visit the Tooth Temple then you should also visit the Royal Palace's remains since it's inside the compound. Interesting hearing hall.

We went after the evening tooth movement so it was a little dark by the time we made it there but it was still impressive to see and imagine the old palace. It's worth spending an extra few minutes in the temple grounds to see it.

Very interesting, but there could have been more signs in English. However, afterwards I learned that it would have been possible to borrow some audio-player, which in English tells about what you see.

That's if the "Guides" at the door leave you alone for two minutes...This is also part of the Temple and is included in your ticket price, and is situated towards the rear of the Temple beside another little museum containing old Tusker the stuffed elephant himself. As we entered the first thing we met were the "Guides" touting to show... More

This is the Royal Palace of the last Sri Lankan King and few predecessors before that. Traditionally the Royal Palace and the King Ship should protect the Buddhism of the country and as well as protect the Tooth Relic of the Lord Buddha. The Place house the Lord Buddhas Tooth Relic in a dedicated chamber and in a golden casket.... More

This is a very beautiful small park in the Kandy city with many varieties of flowers and trees from where you get a good view of the city
