Nice small spice garden near Kandy. Simple introduction to the compounding of auervedic medicines. Worth a stop if you are passing by but not worth going out of the way for.

We stopped here en route to Kandy. It was ok; I enjoyed looking at the plants and the guy showing us around clearly knew his stuff. I enjoyed the spiced Ceylon tea we were given in a mini mug. I also enjoyed the awkwardness of my husband being given a massage with citronella rub! They will try to run all... More

We went there thinking it would be a real spice garden but they only have a few trees. They have a product made from every tree which they want to sell. We got interested in purchasing a few things but when we got into their shop - the prices were extraordinarily high - just a rip off. They even said... More

DO NOT make the mistake from buying anything from here, they first give you a tour of the garden then take you to a station where they will give you a massage amd show you different stuff then take you to their overpriced pharmacy. They sold us a hair removal cream with the promise that hair won't grow on that... More

Nice experience. First time o see ginger, kardamon, pepper plants. Very good guide. He said he finished 5 years Ajurveda medizin school and applies at a hospital to become doctor. I don't know if it's true but he knew quite a lot about everything and his English was excellent. Kids were running around. My wife got every question answered. I... More

The spice guide was very knowledgeable. We got a free massage at the end by students learning Ayurveda. We just gave them a nominal tip. The garden is beautiful, lush, and it is amazing to know that they make oils out of pineapples, cinnamon, sandalwood etc. and combos of various things. We did not buy any oils as it was... More

It was ok, but the end result is they want you to part with your hard earned cash. Sure it is a poor country and you may wish to help out, but things are over priced...

if you are an outsider and taking a city tour of kandy, i advise you not to do any shopping from the shops your taxi driver or your tour guide takes you, or you will end up purchasing some useless costly items because they take you to the places which pays them high commission, spice garden kandy is one of...
