This is a calm and soothing place to visit on top of a hill. There is a nominal fee for tourists. The view from top is fascinating

High on a hill overlooking Kandy, foreigners pay an admission fee, must remove shoes but tile steps and walk are hot enough to burn your feet.

Located on top of a hill, the Bahiravakanda Vihara Buddha Statue offers a beautiful view of the Kandy city. Your can climb up the statue to get this beautiful view. It can be clubbed with Kandy view point which is nearby. There is a small entry fee to visit here.

This Budha here is the eye arresting form , entrance is very inviting . The entry ticket is high - flight of stairs atop the hill can be discouraging to the people with knee pain . But , once up there the view is breath taking .

This is a temple located at probably the highest point of the city. You can drive upto the temple. Once you reach there you can have an amazing view of the Kandy city.

Nice experience but very crowded at the time of ritual. Still worth rubbing shoulders. Its magnificent during evening after the sunset. Hard to see the tooth but if you are lucky can bear the push and ull, then can see the golden cover, at least!

That temple is in a high place.so easy to have good photos of Kandy city.I think the best time to go there is after 4 pm FLOWERS ARE AVAILABLE IN FRONT GATE. In side the temple a book shop is available .can get the sun set experience. Don't forget to bring water.

Just ask for Kandy police station, from police station there is a road going upward by which you can reach this statue. Well built nice statue. worth visiting if you are in kandy. I have not paid any fee as... More
