Road to the point is steep and rough but it's worth. From the top you are over looking the city. If you like then you can climb behind the statue to the top. Amazing.

Walked up this hill after being to the temple of the tooth. Very steep but not too long a walk up a road without pavement (I've seen very few pavements in Sri Lanka so far - watch out for vehicles). 200 rupee entry fee although the guy looking after your shoes pushed for much more but didn't get it. You... More

Recently I visited Bahirawakanda Temple. Every time in Kandy, I have seen this mountain from Kandy town but never had the opportunity to go and see the place. It is worthwhile to make a visit to this location. The Buddha statue at the top defines the Kandy city and its heritage. We can get a magnificent view of the city... More

This should be a 'must see' for visitors to Kandy. The gigantic white statue can be seen from afar but the steep climb to the top of the hill is rewarded by spectacular view over the town and surrounding countryside plus the opportunity to explore the Temple. As with all of the major attractions in Kandy, it gets extremely busy... More

Beautifull view from this place. You will see whole Kandy and mountains around. It´s hard hill to go here, therefore aren´t many tourist here :) You can sit here and in quiet see the great Budha statue.

The view from the top was quite spectacular - note that to walk from Kandy CBD takes around 20-25 minutes but is very steep. The only dampener was the frequent charges along the way to get to the top - be prepared to pay to enter the temple grounds, pay for your shoes to be stored, and pay to climb... More

The view of the city from the temple was amazing! The large white Buddha statue is visible from Kandy City so our tuk tuk driver took us to the temple.A lovely attraction in Kandy and a must see if you are there.

Beautiful surroundings and no hassle. Worth going to for some lovely pictures of the statue itself and of Kandy.
