We ate at a restaurant that gave a great view of this as well as the lay out and landscape of Kandy.

Overlooking the Kandy City, the Buddha statue of Bahiravokanda vihara is one of the great scenery in Kandy city. This statue is visible from anywhere in the Kandy city as it is situated in a hill. I Like this very much.

You can walk up stairs to the shoulder of the Buddha and get some really nice pictures. It's a neat spot.

This 88 feet tall statue is visible from most of Kandy. It's definitely worth going there, and the view is worth it, but it doesn't blow you away. Sort of a middle path, which is probably appropriate.

Very Good View of the City, and easily accessible from the city. As this is a temple, please observe silence and be respectful.

We went to the Bahiravakanda Vihara to to see the beautiful 88 foot Buddha statue that you can see from a great distance. The hill was steep and we travelled by taxi. The statue and the temple are just lovely. You can climb the staircase at the back of the statue to reach a viewing area that overlooks the city... More

I would say the view from the statue is superior to that of the viewpoint, the drive up the winding roads is an adventure in itself. The entrance fee is also only 200rupees! Which seems to be very inexpensive for Sri Lankan attractions. The walk up the steps is great when looking up at the white statue against a blue... More
