This should be a 'must see' for visitors to Kandy. The gigantic white statue can be seen from afar but the steep climb to the top of the hill is rewarded by spectacular view over the town and surrounding countryside plus the opportunity to explore the Temple. As with all of the major attractions in Kandy, it gets extremely busy... More

Beautifull view from this place. You will see whole Kandy and mountains around. It´s hard hill to go here, therefore aren´t many tourist here :) You can sit here and in quiet see the great Budha statue.

The view from the top was quite spectacular - note that to walk from Kandy CBD takes around 20-25 minutes but is very steep. The only dampener was the frequent charges along the way to get to the top - be prepared to pay to enter the temple grounds, pay for your shoes to be stored, and pay to climb... More

The view of the city from the temple was amazing! The large white Buddha statue is visible from Kandy City so our tuk tuk driver took us to the temple.A lovely attraction in Kandy and a must see if you are there.

Beautiful surroundings and no hassle. Worth going to for some lovely pictures of the statue itself and of Kandy.

This provides a great view of Kandy without the hassle you receive if you stand at the Kandy View Point.

It only cost Rs200 to climb up the steps to see this huge statue close up; and of course have the views across Kandy too, so I would recommend paying to see this. The statue is spectacular both up close and from afar.

Bahiravokandha Statue can be seen to the central of the Kandy City. If we went to that place which is in a very high position we can minimize our tiredness of climbing to that place by the vision around that place. To that place we can see a large area of the Kandy City.

The statue may be more beautiful from far but the hike up to it is quite nice as well. Paying the fee to get the whole way up to the statue isn't necessary but it's not a complete waste either. The view of Kandy is quite nice from the top.

The statue is located in a height mountain around Kandy town and if you want to have good view of Kandy town with good shed, Dalada maligaya, Bogambara ground, Hanthana etc, this is a good place.
