Wasn't a fan of the heavy traffic coming in and out of Kandy at the side of the lake which meant crossing the road was quite a challenge at peak times. Enjoyed the variety of wildlife around the lake.

The lake area is great for a walk in the evening when it is not so hot outside. You can observe moneys, turtles, monitor lizards and various birds along the way.

Kandy lake is okay, not cleanest lake but great for a good walk around the loop. It might take maybe 1 to 2 hours to complete the walk around the lake. Spotted some monkeys in the tree or by the lake.

Kandy Lake as an urban lake is beautiful, and a great activity for an afternoon in Kandy. We took our 2 young kids (7 and 9) and walked around the whole lake - a little over an hour. We saw a number of different bird species, monkeys, a huge monitor lizard, a couple of turtles, numerous fish, and the trees... More

Stroll along the side by the Temple of the Tooth and the Queen's hotel. The other side is adjacent to a pretty busy road and accompanying fumes, so probably best to stick to the peaceful side. A small boat runs excursions from the dam.

A Lake around the Sri Dalana Maligawa - bundried with decorative wall "walaakulu bemma" adds value to Kandy city.

We walked around Kandy Lake to the Temple of the Tooth. There are many photo opportunities, and later in the afternoon we saw all kinds of birds. It's a romantic spot for young lovers and also a place where families go for an evening stroll.
