This hour-long dance performance showcases several sets of traditional Kandyan dances. The performances were simple and the costumes exotic. However from what I heard these dancers are local youth volunteers so don't expect skilled performances or showmanship. It would also have helped if they at least provided information (written or oral) about the background or significance of each dance. Entrance... More

This show lasts for about an hour from 5pm and is virtually next to the Temple of the Tooth. The show is vibrant and colourful and we'll worth going to. The performance ends with a fire walker.

Get there early as it gets very full very quickly but it is definitely well worth seeing. It is very hot so I'd definitely recommend taking in drinks or buying the ones available there. You do get a breakdown of what each dance means which is helpful and some of the dancers are amazingly skilled.

We stayed in the Club Bentota Hotel in Aluthgama and visited Kandy dancers as part of a two day trip to Kandy. We had this venue bigged up so to speak by the guide we had but we were quite disappointed and found it a bit of a let down. When we arrived we were ushered in to what was... More

The venue is fine and we had pre paid seats so we could see everything that happened on the stage. A list in English of the performances was very helpful so we had some idea about the drumming, the dancing and the meaning of the costumes. The fie walking afterwards was amazing. Whilst not the most polished of performances we... More
