The Kandyan Dancers were colourful interesting and different. What was interesting was when they played the Sri-Lankan national anthem which you can see and hear ties very closely to the dancers performance. We found the drums a bit over powering and it was very difficult to take photos and the hall was't well lit.

Most of the performance was on stage indoors with the music and dancers performing on stage at the front. The dancers were mesmerising and the whole show was well presented. At the end it moved outside for fire walking and similar activities. It was very interesting to see this side of Sri Lankan culture

This is//was a Very Impressive, Mesmerizing Performance. I Am Very Glad to Have Seen this Performance. It was Well Worth it and I Would See it Again. In one word: Outstanding. The Female and Male Dancers Were Exotic and Excellent. Very Impressive. The Female Dancers were Very Good, Very Exotic, Sexy and it was Clear and Apparent that They Were... More

To be honest, I chose to see this show to check how my one year old would take it . Surprisingly he behaved very good ! We saw this at the YMBA. The good thing about the show is it keeps you entertained the entire one hour and also you get to enjoy some unseen local stunts. The bad part... More

Felt so much like something put to showcase culture to foreigners who don't know anything about it. Too loud, no rhythm and costs 1000rs like it was some proper theatre play. One guide told us that it was around rs500 only a few months back but then they doubled the price and ask for tips at the end too. Wouldn't... More

This is a good way to spend an hour before dinner in Kandy. There are a couple of these shows by the lake and I can't remember if ours was at city hall, but from the photo I though it must be the same as the two guys at the back on the left chatted to each other all through... More

Oak Ray Hotel, 9, Deveni Rajsinghe Mawatha, Gatambe, Kandy Having had a pretty lacklustre and pricey lunch at the Oak Ray Hotel the day before, I was annoyed to find that he had dragged us back to the same venue to see the Kandyan Dancers. The guides and drivers give their name and company name to the person taking payment... More

One hour of a colorful costumes show, drums beats, dance and acrobats.. the beats are loud but very enjoyable and relaxing, then the walking on the fire show out side is other fascinating thing..see it if you have spare time in the evening..

I was not sure what to expect but the costumes were colourful and the music rhythmic and mono tonal, but the dancers and their acrobatics compensated for this. The male dancers combined strenuous dance techniques turns, spins, somersaults etc with the traditionalise dance steps. One funny moment was when one dancer in a frenzy of his pirouettes got caught up... More
