Lovely little Temple, mainly because of the setting. Saw crabs and a sea title whilst there and the boat ride was pretty good too, though good mobility needed at the temple side due to clambering out on to rocks. Haggled from 1500 to 500 rupees to go there. Think we got a good tourist price but difficult to say!

More remarkable because it was one place that survived the tsunami. We didn't go out on the boat but did spend 15 minutes long around on the way to the tsunami photo museum

We went here not as tourist but as devotees; followed the procedure recommended for the believers. This experience inspired us. Then the strange coincidence; when a beggar woman read our minds accurately and wished us well. For my rating of the shrine in the sea, I have considered it's unique and scenic location. Do not take any intoxicants or meat... More

A very old Buddhist temple situated on an island about 100 meters off the coast, and only reachable by boat. A very interesting location. The number of devoted local tourists far outweighs the meager few expat sightseers, making the temple feel more authentic and solemn. Well worth a visit, even if you dont make the trip to the island, you... More

This temple is just in the water, in the Indian Ocean, surrounded by water. It has an interesting story as it is said it is the only building that survived the tsunami in 2004. We also caught the celebrations for their buddhist days, 3 days and 3 nights :) with fireworks, elephants dressed up and all sort of clothing...

Very beautifully situated by the sea and have noticed that this place has become a must stop for the locals passing by for some change money. A nice place to stop by to relax too.
