The effort to get to the caves is worth while if only to appreciate what it must have taken to produce the fine arts and many buddhas and to see how well they have been preserved. More

The ancient Dambulla Golden Cave Temple is just outstanding. It is worth climbing uphill and discover the rock caves with Buddha statues. The new Temple located just after the car park is not interesting. Get right away to the ancient Temple. As usual the entrance fee is discriminating between “Foreign Visitors” who pay a high price and “Local Visitors” who... More

It is really worth going to Dambulla to visit Golden Cave Temple, as a part of cultural Triangle and UNESCO heritage site. Although you have to climb numerous stairs to reach the cave, it is worth every extra breath you take. Unique, amazing, back to the history place with impressive wall paintings and numerous statues of Buddha. More
