On our 3 weeks tour through Peru, we also stayed in Ica, small village close to Huacachina. We went one day to Huacachina by taxi that did not cost a lot. We had a lovely meal in Huacachina before our tour. The tour cost about 50 soles but it was worth. Our guide was great, well experienced. The dunes were... More

I am hesitant to take tours, rip off, too organized, not a good value etc. But my cab driver talked me into it, the Buggy and surfing the sand dunes! At the time only $15 US, so great value, and we went down at least 3 Sand dunes, some really steep and huge one. Plush you get a ride to... More

So much fun going over the dunes in the dunebuggie and also trying to surf with the sandboards. Great experience, which also ended with a beautiful sunset.

Wow what a spot. We were coming from paracas and had some time to spare before catching a bus to Arequippa. We paid our guide to drive us to the oasis and wait. I am sure that a taxi would have been a lot cheaper as it is not that far from Ica. I felt like we were on the... More

Normally It takes 2 hours, take a tour at 4 p.m so you have chance to see the sunset in the end of your trip. It cost us 50 sols/ P ( tax included) and taxi each way 10 sol from ica.

During our 11 day trip of Peru last month, we did a lot of things such as ATV tours, zip lining, Amazon jungle stay, Machu Picchu etc but our highlight of the tour were the two days we spent in Ica region and Sand Buggy ride in Huacachina stood at the top. The dunes are huge, buggy ride is fun... More

This was by far the crown jewel of my Peruvian adventure and believe me I did all the things! I haven't smiled, laughed or screamed this much ever I think. The dunebuggie ride and sandboarding was amazing, the guide really made the experience. He cranked the tunes and fed us pisco! WAAAAY TO MUCH FUN! Would recommend this to anyone... More

I had my eyes closed for the first 5 minutes, but when I realized the driver knew what he was doing, I opened them and enjoyed myself! It was great to be able to stop, get out and take photos. Also we had the chance to belly board. It was much easier than I thought it would be. Do it!

I write this review because we had a bad experience in Ica. Before going on a tour like this, just make sure to ask questions to your tour operator. They all call their tour Buggy/Sandboarding, but most of the time it's Lieboarding. Sandboarding is on your fett, Lieboarding on your belly. Sometimes they tell you you can do both, but... More
