We did just stay here for a half day. When we arrived at noon from Ica (by Motor taxi 4 sola) we first organized our sand baggy tour for late afternoon - evening time to see the Sunset up on the Send dune (35 sola per person for 1.5-2 hours tour). Then we enjoyed a ice cream before renting a sand... We booked the tour with Desert Travel in Ica. The travel through the sand dunes will give you a good adrenaline rush, and if like me you will have the buggy full of screaming, you ears will have a blast too. For me it was a really interesting experience to travel on the dunes and then doing sandboarding for the... More

My daughter and I went to Ica on my whim after our digestive systems settled down from our first days in Lima. At the bus station there, we met Williams Rojas, our taxi driver, tour guide and new best friend, who urged us to stay in Huacachina. Unfortunately all lodging in Huac was full, so we spent plenty of time... More

When was a young boy I went with my friends. We went to pass a weekend there and swimming in the pool beside the Lagoon. Sand is a very magic ingredient in a Oasis full of nature around the lagoon. Swimming in the lagoon is prohibited. There is a legend about a mermaid who kidnaps young boys that will never... More

Sandboarding at morning was ectremely funny...and hurd, but jumping over the dunes on those special cars is full of adrenaline!! I did not like so many people that arrives after 10 am aproximately; it is better going early at morning or with the sunset over the dunes!!

the oasis isn't very clean so i wouldn't recommend swimming in it but you can take out a paddle boat and relax in the lagoon its not a bad way to spend half an hour

Nice place to visit, nice view and some different activities like sand boarding, buggys or paddling in the lagoon

Huacachina is a beautiful town, but unfortunately is hugely westernised, to the point you can't even find typical Peruvian food or go to a restaurant or bar without western food on the menu and western music playing everywhere. Because it's so small food and everything else is overpriced. Sand boarding is fantastic whether you go solo or with a jeep... More

I'd had a fall and didn't want to stress my back, so decided not to do sandboarding or the dune buggies (fun but noisy), and just walked around the dunes, climbing them for views of the oasis, amazing sunsets and physical activity. It was a lovely day! At the end for a laugh I just went rolling down one dune,... More

Going on the dunebuggy was more like a rollercoaster than I expected, and sandboarding was a lot of fun, making it definitely worth the visit. However, the small town that is built up around the lagoon seems based only on this tourism, and not somewhere I would like to stay longer than I would have to in order to experience... More
