The lagoon looks like it is out of a fairy tale. It is smack in the middle of town and the desert. Some call this place an oasis.it is well worth a visit, particularly for lunch after the Nazca flight, when one has missed breakfast .

A place off the beaten path, sand, sun and nice people. It is advisable to hire a sand board package and everything will be more comfortable. Recommended in the evening so not you endure the desert sun.

Well worth a try if you have never got on one of these. Like a roller coaster but you never know what is on the other side of the sand dune, we went straight down a few times, but never felt we were in any danger. The drivers are all pros.

Like Volcano boarding in nicaragua this is one of those things for thrill seekers or individuals with an adventurous side! From the dune buggies to the sand boarding this oasis is amazing! I tried this, and I mean tired because I fell the entire time in 2009. I would do it again and again.

We took a bus down there from Lima. Once we got there one of our group signed into a hostal and we began to walk around. The prices weren't terrible and just about everyone there was a tourist. We signed up for the sunset dune buggy excursion and left for the coast. When we got back our tour guide found... More

The Oasis itself was very beautiful! I also did the sand duning and the sand boarding which was extremely fun!! Hint: the sand is VERY hot, I made the mistake of wearing sandals-I suggest to wear closed toe shoes. On the down side, my experience of the local services (bar/restaurants) were not so hot. We were 2- 1boy and 1... More

They advertise it as an oasis in the middle of the desert, but we were told that is no longer natural but man made. The view is great nonetheless, the dunes are majestic, but we actually expected smaller ones. We didn't do the dunes trailing cause we couldn't actually drive the biggies, but if you are an adrenaline junkie, you'll... More

We rode the sand dunes for about thirty minute our driver ran out of gas and had to call to get some so we had to wait 20 minutes and we were taken back since our hour was up my son and his father-in-law had some harsh word with lady who sold it and were able to get half their... More

We stayed in Huacachina for two nights, and used it as our base to explote the area (mainly Paracas and Islas Ballestas). Though it could be a nice place, we noticed that 1) the place is very small, 2) the place is polluted with trash, 3) it is impossible to find a good hotel. I would say that the place... More

Rode the sand dunes with a group in Huacachina - we were a family of four with two teenagers and everyone had a blast. It was much more exciting than we expected and they allowed us to mount our go pro on the front of the sand buggy, which gave us some incredible footage. This is probably the one "must... More
