We went in our own car. It was a leasurly afternoon trip after a cvisit to the museum in ICA. Noe the entire regionis desert, with a few rivers alng which mainly grapes grow now, but the great cultures of Peru were born an florished along these rivers. But the reserve is pure desert! No plants for miles and impressive... More

We decided to rent bikes and bike the National Reserve which turned out to be a really cool (but pretty hard) afternoon. The scenery is crazy, almost like being on a different planet or on the moon, with dunes everywhere and stunning water views. The total bike ride was over 25 miles but it was so worth it at the... After going to the Ballestos Islands we taken through the park to see the Red Beach and other interesting places within the park. Short extra excursion but worth it.

Very interesting and funny 2 hours excursion on a boat. In the average trip, you can see sea lions, penguins, crabs and a lot of birds, while If you'll be lucky enough you can see some dolphins.

We too the trip to the Paracas National Reserve on our way to Nazca, first I've always praise Peru for how well their tour industry is organized. I thought it was all about Sea Lions, but turn out to be more that that, first some awesome stone arches naturally formed, we saw many sea birds including some penguins, and of... More

My boyfriend and I loved visiting the Paracus National Reserve. We, like many other visitors, actually wanted to do a boat tour to the Islas Ballestas but unfortunately there were no boats because of too much wind. So we did the National Reserve instead. We booked onto a tour and had a great guide - very informative and quite an... More

We actually wanted to do a boat tour to the Islas Ballestas but unfortunately there were no boats because of too much wind. So we did the National Reserve instead. We took a colectivo to Paracas because we had thought (Lonely Planet made the suggestion!!) we could do the reserve on our own - BIG mistake. The national reserve is... More

We did a 4 hour tour of the reserve and it was a waste of time. You basically drive across the desert and stop at a bunch of shore lines and cliffs, and it gets really really repetitive. We thought we would see alot of cool animals like seals and flamingos, but we only realized after the tour that these... More
