We had the opportunity to attend the Rupa Wasi Tree House Cooking School in Cusco. From the moment Alvaro picked us up at our hotel to go to the local market to shop for fresh ingredients for the class we knew we were in for a special day. He was awesome! In five minutes he made us feel as if... More

I read about the cooking classes in Aguas Calientes before arriving in Peru and really wanted to do this. My husband was reluctant, but it turned out to be a highlight of our trip to Peru!! We got behind the bar and in the restaurant's kitchen & learned how to make Pisco Sours, ceviche & quinoa. It was so much... More

We had a fantastic time with Francisco at our cooking class in Cusco! The day started with Francisco meeting us at our hotel in Cusco, then we visited San Pedro market together to buy a couple of ingredients. We drove a little out of town to where the cooking class began. The theme was Peruvian fusion food with a twist.... More

My husband so totally enjoyed the cooking lesson. He learned how to make pisco sour, chicken with 3 different kinds of quinoa and an awesome ceviche. He learned how to properly slice the trout fish and how to not fully squeeze the key lime so as not to have the bitter taste part of the key lime juice. Highly recommended... More

Not knowing what to do with a full day after visiting Machu Picchu, my husband and I got to searching on the Internet. We came across cooking lessons here in Aguas Calientes. We regretted not taking advantage of this opportunity in Thailand so we jumped at this chance. They prefer a reservation, however they were able to accommodate us within... More

I met a couple of women one morning and told them about the cooking class. They were game and I was glad because there is a minimum of 2 for the class to be a go and I was alone. We really enjoyed the class, the staff and the food that were all part of this cooking lesson. There isn't... More

One of the absolute highlights of our trip to Peru. A fun, informative and delicious event. The instructors were super friendly and helpful in making excellent drinks (Pisco Sour) and food (trout cebiche, chicken with quinoa). We got the recipes emailed and recooked them at home for friends.

Freddy the head chef and his staff at the tree house restaurant made us feel very welcome and relaxed. As an alternative thing to do in Aguascalientes this is perfect. We made Pisco sours, trout cerviche and quinoa and chicken risotto. You then get to eat everything you've made which makes the whole experience great value. Highly recommended!

Having eaten very enjoyably at the Tree House in a big group (13) the night before, four of us wanted to see how it was done and to try some different things on the menu. A cookery lesson seemed the perfect way -- it was billed as a starter and a main course, but actually started with a Pisco Sour... More
