Located on a corner of the Assilah´s medina, there´s no doubt that this spot worth a visit if you are on the city. But this is a calm city to chill out, and there´s no big attractions, so this small places are the only options available.

A couple of millenniums ago, the Phoenicians and later Romans had here the port already. At that time, the city was called Zilis, and you can see the traces of these old port, even now. The place is agreable and caracteristic, with a lot of little boats of fishermen, even if it is a bit touristic. But it is extremely... More

don't miss it! It is quite, nice and clean village with many artists shops on the Atlantic cost south of Tangier. Take the time to walk in the narrow peaceful streets of the medina.

We enjoyed our first up close encounter with the Atlantic from the Medina pier. A sunny day enhanced our visit. We enjoyed massive fish platters at the cafe directly across from the main gate of the Medina. Lots of wall art here. They have an annual mural art festival that puts new paintings on the walls.

The port is OK. Busy at nights during Ramadan. The action is at the Medina or the street market. 80)

Enjoyed walking through the streets of this seaside village overlooking the sea. Uncrowded without the usual bothersome hawkers following us. Great views over the walls looking down at the water. There were shops to visit and restaurants to try. We tried the mint tea and some Moroccan cookies which contained a lot of ground nuts. Very good. We saw a... More

The Port of Assilah has a nice view of the stoney coast from the peer of the medina and the medina is full of nice wall paintings, shops with the usual leather, ceramic and crafts stuff but the port and medina as such were not something spectacular.

We took a side trip to this coastal village from Tangier. The beach was wide, clean and had some nice waves. The village was very picturesque. Everywhere you turned there was an interesting picture to take. The view of the Atlantic from the village was awesome. The sun was low on the horizon and offered a golden tone to everything.... More

Best swimming in the Atlantic of Morocco! 5 km sounth of Assilah - it's called paradise beach, and for a reason: clean! great surf, long, slow waves, fresh sea water, good places to hang out and enjoy lunch. Please keep this place a secret!
