Hire a local guide (they're hanging around everywhere) to give you a tour. Much better this way. More

Definitely worth the while to visit the Ksar. We took an offer from a local to sleep at his house in a spare bedroom right in the Kasbah, and it was a wonderful evening. They really took us in, fed us, told us stories and made us feel at home. Also, about 5 km North of the kasbah, there are... More

The site is interesting and lovely to walk around. You get a wonderful view from top of the hill and life in an old fortress. The site feels a bit run down for a UNESCO site. There is no descriptions to tell you what it is (not even in french). There are the usual tourist stores near the lower floors. More

Ait benhaddou is one of the marvellous places i have visited in the whole of my life to see our past generations what they have spent during the passed years ago in Morocco. Ait benhaddou showed a real life of the Glaoui families and the tribes who has given the victory and the still standing walls to show how their... More

When we visited last year we paid an entrance fee but declined the use of a guide. This year we had a wonderful guide and didn't get charged to enter. The views are fantastic and we had a leisurely and tout free stroll around the site. More

Pictures from a distance are the thing to do - close up its a disappointment. We expected 'old' restored a little perhaps but 'old' so much has been revamped for films that close up it's not what we expect from a world heritage site. A 1 - 2 hour detour off the main road is all that is needed. The... More

Like most things Moroccan, this place is run by touts. You can get in and browse around for free, but it is worth the few dirhams to get one of the inhabitants to show you around. The view is stunning from the top. More

This place makes for a fantastic day out. Such a special location, no wonder its a world heritage site. Walking the narrow lanes of houses etc within,, taking one breathtaking step at a time. Not to forget during winter the memorable walk with donkey over the shallow river. Scenic and generally fascinating for anyone, whether you love films or just... More

This is a peaceful place introducing you the southern Morocco. Beautiful ruins and good example of the "berbere" architecture. More
