Problem is that there are far too many tourists for the two beaches in use. The island actually has better beaches on the other side but no way of accessing them for the better snorkelling. Just behind the main drag of resorts, there is rubbish everywhere- legacy of the island's practice of tourists having to buy all drinking water. Bad... More

In restaurant next to The Taaras Resort You can rent a boat from Mr Goe for a amazing trip to snorkeling. He knows meny nice places to do it. The trip is worth the price.

I liked the many colourful fishes I disliked the trips being crowded and many corals have died Travellers from Penang - you can fly into Kota Bahru direct, then take a cab (3 hours - RM218) from airport - you will be in time to catch the 12 noon ferry from Shahbandar to Laguna. And when you wanna go home,... More

Excellent snorkeling off the beach along long beach. Saw turtles, adult blacktip sharks and corals as far as the eye (and water clarity) can see.

There's no doubt about it - the beaches here are picture perfect with brilliant white sand beaches and amazing aqua coloured water lapping the shore. There's some very good dive sights and snorkeling available offshore and close in as well near the rocky headlands etc. The resorts here are quite expensive and cater for large numbers. It was very eye... More

Although the beach is relatively more convenient to find stores, attractions and etc, but you will find it more costly (due to tourist places) and the sand & beaches has been kind of polluted compared to previous. I would suggest you to visit some other newer beach such as Lang Tengah etc.
