One of the most amazing places in Jordan - one absolutely should not visit the country without having a drive through Rum and spending a night in one of the numerous Bedouin camps. Most people come for Petra, but some say Rum is even more exciting. I tend to agree.

We did a jeep tour here for a couple of hours which was great to see the desert in a short amount of time. Great for photography and also the history of the Nabatean people as you can see ancient rock carvings. Bring your camera, hat and lots of water as it's very hot with no real shade.

Fantastic, fascinating - and don't forget your camera. No roads, of course - just driving through the sand.

The favorite part of my experience in Jordan was Wadi Rum, not Petra. This historic caravan route through the desert is so beautiful and truly one of a kind. If you've ever used the following hashtags, you will LOVE Wadi Rum: #earth #nature #desert #mountain #travel #panorama #reddirt #mars

Great to get a feel for the desert. We did trips around in a jeep and saw lots of natural landmarks. Sunset is gorgeous here

spend there 4 hours in a jeep tour, visit all outlooks, and after this a dromedary tour at sunset. marvelous and spectacular. a petty that the tourist board does not control access, and cleanness, be aware of some people that may like to ale you entrances for 5 JD per person and gives you a map as receipt.

A unique place, about 700 square km of sandy desert and amazing rocky mountains, highly recommended for treks and climbs lovers. Not far if you are visiting Aqaba (45 km) or Petra (150 km). Local guides are necessary to use not to be lost besides getting to more places.

My husband and I arrived in the desert with a bus from Petra, after having arranged in advance with a tour company to go on a day trip. The respective guides were disappointing, but the desert made up for it. The fee was 5 JOD/person. We saw a family of camels, had fun jumping on sand dunes, entered a narrow... More

Wadi Rum is beautiful. I went with a tour group to our camp site, but we were driven around in 4x4 vehicle to see the beauty, formation, arches etc. All you can see is sea of sand, beautiful formation and rocks, and camels. Yes, and I rode on of the camels too. The group that I went with had a... More

Took a jeep ride into the desert, and it really is a must. The desert was miles of sand and stunning rock formations that have not changed over hundreds of years. We see some nomads living out there, and I had admiration for them, as how they coped with the heat and desolation is beyond me. The scenery is beautiful,... More
