This place is just amazing; once you arrive here, it looks as if you arrived on Mars. Amazing mountains, red sand, dunes everywhere, camels let loose grazing...The views are out of this world, it is a memorable experience, and the striking thing is the silence...a silence you have never " heard" until now. Choose to spend the night in a... More

This is a rocky desert, not just miles of sand. The rocks are mesmerising and naturally beautiful. Our Bedouin guide cooked lunch for us on an open fire while we gazed at the haunting, ancient rocks in the shelter of a shady ledge. He also played his lute to add to the atmosphere.

Wadi Rum is one of the nicest desert I have seen (and I have seen many). The Bedouins families managed their desert as a jewel. The are really happy to show it and share it with you. Bedouins are very nice, warm, smart people. I do not know what is the best experience: Discovering Wadi Rum desert or discovering Bedouins... More

After spending the night in one of the Bedouin camps (a little bit too commercial for me) I joined in a 4 hours jeep ride through this breath taking landscape. Petra is made by men; the desert is shaped by Mother Nature. One should at least have a moment of silence, hear the wind and let the views sink in.... More

We've visited lots of deserts in our travels but none of them match Wadi Rum. The colours were so vivid and the scenery was truly breathtaking. I'd recommend doing the 4 hour jeep tour and asking your tour provider if you can add something adventurous like sandboarding to make the day more active. There are lots of options for a... More

We weren't sure if we were going to enjoy our time in the desert, but it was one of the highlights of our trip. We used one of the local tour operators who were absolutely brilliant! We spent a day in a 4x4 seeing all the sights (well not all, as the place is absolutely huge), and then had a... More

Wadi Rum will always be one of my favourite places on earth. I never would have imagined desert scenery to be so amazing. This is where Laurence of Arabia was filmed and you can climb the dune to the rocky mound where the cameras were mounted for the big battle. My only regret is that our visit was too short.... More
