Incredible Lava-field. We went through the lava-field to the Mt. Bromo crater. Next morning we did an one-hour hike to the Seroni-Point in order to see the sunset. A lot of clouds- therefore no sunset seen, but anyway a nice view. Usually you have to pay an area entrance fee for Mt Bromo (217 k) - but not if you... More

Bromo of course is the one thing to do in Java but it unfortunately became so touristic, that it took the whole myth of the sunrise away. We were next to hundreds of other people, completely packed when waiting for the sunrise after rushing up to the viewing point. The sunrise is nice but I recommend skipping it and just... More

Be early to get the best spot! It is cold out there but what awaits is a spectacular to watch. Awesome sunrise!

It's not so tall Volcano, but view around is amazing. I don't recommend to try to see sunrise, it's mostly tourist trap, there nothing to see, mostly there clouds, but you can enjoy Bromo just at day time.

Emanating yellow pungent sulfur-smelling fumes from the bottom of the Volcano, with ridges formed by lava, black ash all around for few KMs. From the nearby sunrise point at can be seen Sumeru volcanic peaks. Interesting mushroom clouds could be frequently watched at the peak.

Great place to visit a volcanic area. Mount Bromo in East Java includes 4 peaks. The largest volcano, Mt Semeru, is 3,676 high and is still active. Mt Bromo itself erupted in 2010 and has changed the landscape since. Very impressive sight!

Visited mount Bromo and Ijen with my aunt and cousin. We set off at 4am to catch the sunrise at mount Bromo, the weather is so cold and everywhere is pitch black. Sunrise is spectacular, beautiful sky with morning ray shining onto Bromo. Everything is worth the effort. We did not ride the horse to get to Bromo base, we... More
