One of the most active volcanoes in the world. The combination of danger and beauty leaves one in awe of Mount Bromo. Don't deprive yourself the opportunity to witness this natural beauty. The sun rise from Panajakan viewpoint is simply stunning and the panoramic view of Mount Bromo, Semeru, Batok and Tenggera caldera is breathtaking. The drive across the dusty... More

We went to Pananjakan to watch the sunrise and see the mountains. The views were magnificent. Unfortunately getting up there was not convenient at all and downright dangerous at midnight and in pitch black. The roads sucked and lighting was a bare minimum. We definitely wasted a lot of time and energy just getting there from Surabaya. I think once... More

Good attraction, but don't hesitate to take some help with car and horses to go to the crater. The trip from Surabaya to bromo tenger site was arranged by a friend. We decided to go later in the morning to avoid the early crowd for sunrise. There we took a 4 wheel drive car up the the center of main... More

We booked a tour in yogjakarta for 2.5kk for 2 personswith private driver (after hearing all the horror stories, including ijen en bali dropp off at ferry). Accomodation os really crappy on the mountain. Maybe its worth to wait one year since the mobsters lost there monopoly and new accomodationis being build. But tje moutain view is amazing.... its really... More

We travelled by motor bike so we can easily manage our time and which place should we visit first and can stop at anytime and anywhere to take a picture or just enjoying the view. We were staying in a guest house (although the price was not worth it) and the first thing in the morning around 3am, the guide... More

An active mountain in east java, not far from surabaya. The famous and the great one! It has sand lake, Semeru mountain and Mount Batok mountain, beside Mount Bromo itself. I ride a horse to top of mountain, and you need jeep to reach this place. Bring mask and lots of winter equipment, it's really cold on top of mountain.... More

Pick up time is normally after midnight so you can get a good spot to watch the sunrise. Check the weather. It was zero degrees Celsius when we got up there. Who would have thought that it could be freezing cold in Indonesia? Good that our tour guide warned us before going there. The view was amazing as you watch... More

Been there several time, since so close to home, mount Bromo never disappoint. Best sunrise place at Penanjakan, view of the Mount Bromo, the caldera, and the sand dunes. Each trip, I never miss the sunrise sight from Penanjakan, each time felt different, all were amazing. Best places for sunrise close by are by Ranu Pani, and Ranu Kumbolo, the... More

We organized our bromo trip through the Sunrise Holiday in Malang without any problems. If you are in central or east Java it is a must experience! It may be touristy, but the sunrise from Penanjakan is a stunning view. The trip over the Sea of Sand looks like a Moon landscape, and the view down to hell from the... More

Bromo will not disappoint! Just the experience of walking on the crater of an active volcano! We stayed at Cemorolawang, left 3am - like everyone else. Drove through the Sea of Sand - it was fun, you can imagine you're on the Moon- up to Pananjakan view point. Had a cup of coffee and was ready for the sunrise. It... More
