We chose to stay close to Mt Bromo so as to be able to maximise the amount of time spent actually there. Arriving at Surabaya airport in the mid morning we had already arranged a pickup (at 600k IDR for the vehicle) to take us to Bromo. Having checked in and eaten lunch we then chose to walk down to... We recently went to Bali for a week to attend a wedding, and were lucky enough to have Wan as our tour guide for the first two days. Because of Wan, we were able to see places that we otherwise would not have seen at all. From the cool waterfall of Munduk to the rice terraces of Jatiluwih, from the... More

We did the 2 steps thing like first the view sight and then the ascension. First you get picked up at 3.30am (well more like 4.10am, Indonesian style) and the jeep drops you at the point of view, well didn't saw a thing for an hour because of the fog (atleast the vendors everywhere were selling postcard so we could... 4-6 hours ride from Surabaya . Better to go at night before 9 pm. so when u arrive u will have the right time to view the sunrise from penanjakan -around 4am . In here the temprature is about 2-20 degree Celcius . so better to wear ur cold jacket. The price for foreign tourist is about $35 and $5... More

Bromo ... Very beautiful place in Java. You will feel something different when you have my feet on the ground. The air is very cold, and incredible views to the surroundings. Residents were understated by waiting on the results of their farm. We call they "Tengger tribe"

We decided to enjoy Bormo independently of any tour, which in hindsight was one of the best decisions we have taken during our 7 months trip. We love being away from crowds and in this case it even paid off monetarily. You can get to Cemoro Lawang, the village on the foot of Bromo by minibus (public) from Probolinggo bus... More

Our daughter Lisa went with friends to mount brumo on the 29th of February 2015 she suffered from altitude sickness and was in a coma within 24 hours of getting off the mountain. 2500m is the minimum height for altitude sickness to occur. She was kept alive by ventilator for 19 days when she donated her organs in Singapore where... More

If You visit to Mount Bromo, on weekends, or holidays, so at Bromo very crowded with visitors. I suggest you go to the other viewpoint (kingkong hill) is a good place to see the sunrise and Bromo crater, an altitude of about 2600m Regards Kulojava

First of all, the entire place was crowded with over 500 jeeps and maybe 200 horses. I think this killed the entire experience of enjoying a national park. The horses at the sea of Sands kicked up so much dust/sand, you will find it had to breath. Not to mention their poos and farts... I would have rather peferred to... More
