We flew into Jakarta and were originally going to travel straight to Bali but after reading such good reviews of Mount Bromo, we decided to stop off in East Java beforehand. We flew from Jakarta to Surabaya, then got a local bus from there to Probolinggo (20,000 rupiah/ person) and then a mini bus from there to Cemoro Lawang which... More

Do NOT, i repeat do NOT go with yogyakarta.nl or blue fire travel!! Bromo itself is really nice and beautifull!! But i just wanted to warn you guys for this company if you are planning on going to bromo. I have travelled around the world for almost two years, so i'm pretty used to a lot of backpackers stories and... More

I spent my night at Lava View Lodge and it's real chilling during the night. Do not underestimate the weather and one lesson learnt is that never under-prepare things. The hike to the view point starts at 4am. It was not a very tough hike but due to the altitude and freezing temperature (I am from a tropical country), I... More

Mount Bromo is one of the most iconic mountain in Indonesia. Besides its cold and fresh air, you can see majestic Lautan Pasir (the sea of sand) and beautiful sunrise from its viewpoint. The key to enjoy everything is to come at the right moment. June – August: the best time to go Most people might think that anytime is... More

This place is beautiful and breath taking! The ideal time to be on top is about 5.30am but it will take a while to reach up so most of us will get out of out homestay by 3am to catch the sunrise. Area at the homestay is cold enough to not have any fan but connection for TV might get... More

My wife, 7yr old son and I did a three day tour overland from Ubud Bali to Bromo via Sukomade (to release baby turtles) and the scary Ijen crater. This tour blew my mind and even thought every place was busy (August is the big tourist month in Indonesia) - Esnawan really looked after us...he genunily knows all the right... More

I went to Bromo last December. It was a holiday season so it was a bit crowded. went up to see the sunrise, my suggestion is for you to go around 2am. You can rent the jeep with the driver, you can bargain the cost and the driver would tell you which places he will bring you to. For this... More

Not a fan of crowds, I shunned away from the popular sunrise tour and started the day with a hearty breakfast before starting the tour at 11am. We went up to the viewpoint, climbed up to the crater, explored the savannah on a Jeep and ended the day watching the sunset at Lava View Lodge. If you aren't too keen... More

I visited Bromo in August 2015. It's my second time. The first time was on Desember 2011. Bromo is truly amazing. The most part that i liked is the view from Panatapan, where you can see the mount Batok, Bromo, Widodaren and Semeru alltogether.

I visited Mount Bromo in June 2015 and it was far more beautiful, awe-inspiring, and surreal than its pictures. We arrived at Bromo at around 4 AM directly from the airport and had to change our car to jeep before beginning the ascend. The first stop was a small sunrise point which was incredibly packed with tourists at every inch... More
