The mountain offers amazing Sunrises and that is the best time to visit it. Of course if you are travelling from Surabaya, it means a close to midnight departure. While it is easy to reach the mountain on foot during daytime, the best way to view the sunrise is to take a jeep to the Vantage point which is quite... More

Nice views, would have been better if it was not during the rainy season. Wash foggy when we were there though we did take some good photos. Mount Bromo just erupted last month so it was a pity we couldn't walk up to the crater. Saw the blue fire at Ijen which was amazing. The sulphur fumes were bad; a... More

I was lucky enough to see it when active and it was unbelievable. It is breathless the view. Trek all the way up and back. You will walk through villages and it is a good too. Go before sunrise to get a good spot to view as the volcano is active now and not allowed to climb the mountain. Rent... More

We went there from Surabaya for a daytrip, because we wanted to avoid staying there over night, because of all the rip-offs we already heard before. Storries are true, they rip you off everywhere near Bromo and even in Surabaya they raised prices for a driver when they heard we wanted to go to Bromo NP. Also the entire NP... More

Nice volcano and national park, but in January 2016 was in eruption. But the sunrise was beautifull. You can book a trip for 2-3 days.

When you want to see perfect sunrise try this spot. Bring your jacket also cause it is quite cold here. Can also bring your whisky to overcome it. But if you from north pole nothing to be afraid here the cold like your summer ^_^. You can reach this mountain by walking, horse or using rented jeep

Mt Bromo is awe inspiring. Majestic. The Sea of Sand is like a lunar landscape or a scene in a SciFi film. It's huge. Nature at its best and worst. At the foot of Mt Bromo is a Hindu Temple which is also a place of pilgrimage. Mt Bromo was spitting up ashes the day we went there (10 January)... More

Forget the ship tour, get off the boat early with a group 4 or 8 people and look for a guide that speaks your language. Coat about US $75 per person. A 90 minute ride by air conditioned bus gets you to the base camp where you transfer to Jeeps that hold 4 guests in the back plus driver and... More

This is an amazing place. I was there very early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise there. No word can express my emotion toward that amazing moment. Just fantastic.
