A visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels complex (about an hours bus journey from central Saigon), offers a fascinating insight into the lives and suffering of the local people during the Vietnam conflict. Whatever your views on the rights and wrongs of the fighting it is almost impossible not to admire the courage, ingenuity and determination with which the 'Vietcong'... more

Paid $5US for a bus tour to this attraction and entry to it is also $5US roughly. Can't complain about the price. The downside of the tour (I hate tours) is the half-hour stop over at the lacquer factory/shop. You might get a good tour guide but our's was annoying. He never shut up and would say things like "... more

Having an interest in the Vietnam war I was desperate to go and see the Cu Chi tunnels but have to say this is the biggest disappointment from our whole trip. The tunnels have stairways and lights and brick doorways which isn't anything like how the tunnels were originally. You get to see examples of weapons used by Viet Cong... more

Went to Cu Chi tunnels with our 3 kids 3 weeks ago. Had an amazing day and also visited the Cai Dai temple on a tour the same day. The tunnels were incredible and hard to imagine that people lived in there for so long .... enjoyed going through the tunnels although it was lucky the tunnels had been widened... more

As part of our Vietnam trip we decided that we had to check out the Cu Chi tunnels and we are all very glad that we did. Prior to getting to the tunnels themselves you are taken through a jungle walk that shows different ways that the VC lived during the time of the war, from cooking bunkers to weapons... more

We visited the Ch Chi tunnels in Jan. 2008. There is an opportunity to use a rifle on the firing range. I would like to warn people to make sure that you wear good ear protection, maybe even take your own ear plugs and wear the ones provided as well. I was wearing the ear protection they provided and went... more

I visited the tunnels with my wife and my teenage son, and found it very unpleasant. I had hoped to learn some history and see some of the on-the-ground reality of the Vietnam / American War. However, the site was dedicated to heavy-handed propaganda, demonstrations of gruesome booby traps, and souvenir selling. To the degree that the site allows you... more

I have been to Vietnam twice and visited the Cu Chi Tunnels on both trips and would definitely go again. For any of you who, like me, didn't know too much about the Vietnam War, the Cu Chi Tunnels will certainly prove to be an eye-opener and you'll leave having an amazing respect for these wonderful Vietnamese people. The tour... more
