All Bukhara sites are amazing...you must see how the real life is going on...city is still active and the buildings are still used...excellent desitinations...Visit all buildings like, you will enjoy a lot..I think Bukhara is the second destination after Khiva. More

This is the only ancient tower still standing and survived from Changish Khan to Red Army. 105 steps to the top. Fantastic view from the top. The tower is standing between 2 beautiful Madrasa. Must visit. More

The answer is, supposedly, that he was so impressed by the sheer size and height of the minaret, that he sank to his knees in respect and ordered it spared.
