This was a nice walk through the small shops selling anything you can find in a medina. People was ok and sometimes friendly. We lost a memory card but never found it back!??? On a sad note too many animals under the sun waiting to be killed and eaten. Not really an interesting thought let alone the view!

Be careful, a guy in front of the entrance gate tried to talk us into following him into a web of dirty alleys under the pretext that the main gate was 'closed'.

Very nice medina, shops sell at about half price than the ones you could find in Sousse. The seller are also more friendly and less annoyed if you dont buy anything. Again, beware of "guides!"

If you avoid the carpet touts (i.e if you are interested in the carpets which are great, just walk in off the street- prices will be better) this is a medina with lots of character and no hassle. Working weavers, silversmiths, shoemakers etc all happy to have pics or even demonstrate their work.

Be sure to visit the Medina with its light blue houses and small street. In one of them there are weavers at work: their products are not only very cheap but also beautiful and of good quality: you could buy a bed cover for 15 euros!

I have been to other medinas with lots of tourist shops and anoying salespersons. This is not like that, except for the carpet sellers around the big mosque. Here you can stroll around peacefully, buy local candy or cakes for very litle money. Perhaps have a look at the shoemakers shop. Some children begged for money, butthey were told off... More

Shopkeepers are quite persistent but also have a charm 'cheaper than Tescos' and 'everything free today' just two of their entreaties to get you to enter. Once inside you will be the subject of a massive charm offensive and a determination that you will not leave without a a purchase. Despite my resolve and reasonable haggling skills we still came... Beautiful, very genuine experience. Great city, gorgeous Medina. Not so crowded with turists, gives you a chance to really taste the atmosphere.
