This little river is typical of many Asian waterways. Polluted, algae ridden & totally uninviting, However, it has a certain charm because of the accommodation situated around it. The town of Pai itself is on the river & that is where the action is. The place bustles in the early morning (from about 10.00am it seems) until about 2.00pm when... More

I never lived by the river as the places I checked out were fully booked, but walking alongside it is nice too. There are good camping options around the river in Pai town, and supposedly great fishing waters a bit outside town. I met two men that had camped with their MCs somwhere by the river closer to Maehongson which... More

After gone tubing in the amazing Nam Song river, in Vang Vieng (Laos), I was expecting some clean water and great environment in Pai. UNFORTUNATELY that's not the case for Pai River. It's quite dirty, lot of sewage being disposed... Honestly I dindn't feel like to make the tubing again in this place. Enjoy Pai's waterfalls, hot springs and other... More

We went Rafting on the Pai river, you can book it by Thai adventure! It was one of the best days in Thailand so far. The rafting is not in the part oft the river, that is close to the City. You take a 1,5 hour drive to the parts of the river with all the rapids!

Just a small river, nothing special. There are a lot of resort, hotel and lodge built by the river, if you like relaxing place, can try to stay here. Portion of the river just at the end of Pai town main road, we parked our scooter at town area and just walked there. More photos and details please refer my... More

We went tubing with a couple of beers! It was a really fun way to spend the afternoon, just floating around and relaxing.

The Pai Valley is absolutely beautiful. It is spoiled by over tourism... but only a little bit. The river is pristine. There are some problems, like agricultural run-off, damage from flood control measures in the town. and extra silt from dredging, but for the most part the river is nice and clean. People who say there is industrial damage to... More

The river is a short walk from many of the hotels and guest houses in the night market area. It's also a popular area for camping, either in tents or wooden chalets. We were only in Pai for the one day but there are clearly a number of sports activities which take place on the water.
