A great little bar for a friendly drink. Steve, the owner is very welcoming, and the staff are attentive. The bar is in a nice location, right by the Mekong, with some wonderful sunset views. The bar is well cared for, and the prices are very reasonable.
I always enjoy my visits here.

British owned the Manchester Arms is open daily from 1pm until late for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Situated on the bank of the River Mekong this is a gay friendly bar offering a relaxed atmosphere and great views across the river to neighbouring Laos, with stunning sunsets occurring almost daily.There is free WiFi available, and international sport is shown on the wide screen TV.

I dropped into Steve's bar on a recent (and first) visit to Nongkhai, having seen the bar listed as gay-friendly. It's not a gay bar, though, and attracts a diverse clientele. Steve gave us a very friendly welcome when my wife and I visited the Manchester Arms, and the first thing we noticed was how clean and nicely decorated the place was.
Steve's Thai staff were also friendly and helpful and we didn't have to wait more than a minute or two for a refill.
