We have been to many island tours in Thailand an picked this as something new to see. People seem to rate it as the place to see, we'll yes it's very nice but it's not close. We wouldn't rate it higher than racha or phi phi, kind of the same just different island. Be aware it's 90 mins in the... More

We went on this tour courtesy of Medsye. The Medsye staff were excellent; all very helpful. However, the language of instruction was Thai, so I was thankful my Thai friend translated for me! The boat journey to the island itself is an hour long each way. On the island, there is a fantastic beach with extremely clear waters resembling a... More

I went to Ko Tachai from Phuket few days ago. For a day trip, it was way too long. 3 Hours each side. None the less, the company which we took was very good, and made travel quite comfortable. Water was quite clean. The ride from pier was not bumpy. You are not allowed to take your shoes to the... More

I had heard about this island for a while and we decided to do the snorkeling trip two days in a tow in our Asian trip this year. Tachai island was one of the spots and I was amazed about how blue of the ocean, how white of the crystal sandy beach, and how pretty of the view of the... More

We went by speedboat to Tachai Island from a jetty about 30 mins from Khao Lak's main hotel area. The speedboat was about 1.5 hours one way and luckily the water was relatively calm, so we didn't get sick. The tour operator provided everyone with travel sickness tablets anyway. Tachai Island has nice green water and white clean sand. You... More

Very very soft sand, nice beach, sunny and bluelish water. With some forest to walk through. Normally, very peaceful except Songkran week that over crowded. Good for the family with young children because you can choose to just play on the beach or joining the snorkling. But nothing much to see for snorkle.

Went to this Island by boat and arrived as the first boat. This meant that we had the beach very much to ourselves at first, which was wonderful. Even when more visitors arrived there was still planty of space on this beautiful beach. Did not see the rest of the beach, and did not go diving or snorkelling.

The beach is lovely, the snorkelling ok, the chicken crabs nocturnal so lucky if you see a leg of a sleeping crab. Too many boats visiting so very crowded. Described as Maldives of Thailand which is so far from reality.

White powder sand, very blue sea without photoshop and rain forest with chicken crabs as the island local... Very serene and harmony but barefoot only allowed... but I still was disappointed about underwater snorkeling.. there is few alive corals there and that's sad. They should make the same policy like Koh Lipe. Perhaps their underwater could be much more beautiful.

A lovely white sand beach and some great snorkelling, spoiled by the number of people visiting what should be a tropical paradise island. A number of companies run this trip from Khao Lak. They all follow the same itinerary: a couple of snorkelling stops then a very mediocre lunch followed by the afternoon at leisure on the beach with 25... More
