Book your hotel around this area, very lively at night. Lots of restaurants, tour offices, scuba centers, atms, money exchange, bars etc.. The main beach, which means you dont have to rent a longtail boat to get to your hotel or resort, only a few minutes walk from the pier.

It is pretty cool to see when pulling into the island, however you cant really swim here due to the amount of boats, and it's not a great spot to sunbath for the same reason. We spent ten mins looking in the water at the fish but after that we moved on.

We stayed in in Ao Nang and took a longtail to Raily Beach, the two beaches are situated alondside eachother. We swam to Ton Sai around the outcrop of rock. Going was great as the tide was high, BUT don't attempt this if the tide is low, the rocks cut one terribly. The beach has outcrops of rocks that offer... More

If you look for peace and beautiful surroundings don't go there. Only bars, pubs, restaurants and souvenir shops. Place is made for young people to party at night. The best experiences were in other beaches and islands nearby. The nature was beautiful outside Tonsai. Lot's of construction going on overall Tonsai.

This is where the main pier (Tonsai Pier) is where the boats/ferries from Phuket, Krabi and other small islands come. Tonsai is the busiest area in Phi Phi island. As soon as you get off the boat or ferry, you have to pay 20 baht for municipal charges in order to keep the island clean. If you have booked a... More

Only a 20-something would stay in Ton Sai but we caught a boat in most days for shopping and eating. No hassling like In Phuket - all of the shop staff were very pleasant and great variety and quality of you are prepared to search. Only the young westerners at the dive shops will pounce on you to try and... More

The once climbing paradise is quickly filling up with rubbish from the building of new resorts as well as careless and/or ignorant tourists. The climbs are amazing, though mostly in the sun, so go, pick one bit of rubbish and enjoy early morning climbing!

All boats come to this beach. So it's not recommended to swim and rent hotel in this area. from the other hand here is not so loudly at night. There is a shark point in the middle of this beach, but I haven't seen any sharks there.
