We decided to opt out of the notorious full moon parties of Phi Phi or Koh Phangan and spend our full moon on TonSai beach. We spent only two nights there but had an amazing time, the beach was lovely - although the tide is extremely quick in going in an out and we suffered quite a few scrapes on... More

Great beach with a woderfull landscapes (mountains and rocks). Definetly adviced for backpackers and for climbers as you can climb on this beach and in many places around (the beach is reachable by boat or by one hour jungle walk all day long but when the tide is low You can walk to Rayley beach). Electricity is generated by diesel... More

Lovely beach, very picturesque with the huge mountains framing it on the left. Lots of tourists boats come in and out all day though, which makes it hard to find a decent place to swim, without being next to a boat. It is still very warm and blue and had such nice views.

My days as a backpacker have long passed. It was nice to go to Ton Sai Bay just to see the spectacular view in front of it. The bay is breathtaking. As for the town, it is purely for backpackers. I rate this site as very good simply because of the view of the bay and the long tail boats.... More

Unlike stated in the article this beach is very close to the town. It is indeed nice ,and you can watch climbers on the rocks and boats in the bay while resting on the beach. However we enjoyed the Long Beach more.

Ton Sai was a highlight of our trip. With it's magnificent landscape makes for some incredible photos! I would say it is definitely for the back packer type. With its combination of incredible climbing and infinite supply of slack lines. Always something to keep you occupied. But be careful with food and drinks. They are not quite up to speed... More

Stayed on Phi Phi Long beach in March'14 and was saddened by the false tourist persona of Ton Sai town. Restaurants are fine the walk along the water not unpleasant but all the lane ways are hot, dusty and not particularly Thai. We visited during the day (heaps of day trippers) but also at night (less people but not quiet)... More

It is the entrance to Phi Phi Don island through the only pier for bigger boats than long tail or speed boats. As a pier entrance, the nearby area to the pier is more commercial type, full of small shops and very crowded. Moving East to the Long bay you'll find less commercial area and hotel bungallows spreading from the... More

Ao Ton Sai does not look like it seems to be -on the pictures! It could be a nice beach but it is occupied by boats. If you walk much further you can find parts where you can have a rest and can swim - but it is just a small part of the whole beach.
