I was so disappointed with my trip to maya bay. Perhaps going in high season is a bad idea as the sea was filled with boats and the beach was just too busy to be enjoyable. The beach itself is gorgeous but not worth 10e to get there and 3e onto the beach itself when the beach in phi phi... More

A fantastic experience, Maya Bay has some of the most gorgeous sights this side of Thailand... It's much more crowed than I expected but even so, you must see to believe as words cannot describe this place! You can´t sleep there since has became a national park (a small fee of 100 baht is charged to enter the area) but... More

Amazing place, really was beautiful. However, too many tourists, it was impossible to move. The smell of diesel from so many speedboats anchored up also ruined the tranquility slightly.

Been there with friends. Just because a movie made this place a world famous place, it doesn't mean that modern tourism needs to destroy it. The area was crowded by noisy and polluting boats, hundreds of tourists looking for a nice picture and absolutely no initiative to protect the place. Please give the place a rest, and stop funding local... More

Clean, pristine, green waters with plenty of colourful fishes. We took a long tailed boat from one of the piers at Phi Phi which took us through another route which involved swimming to the rocks and crossing over them using ropes for support. We could not get to the beach because the tides were too high for us to swim... More

I visited Maya Bay in 2006 and it was beautiful. Have just returned to find it swarming with tourists. The bay had so many boats in it they had to queue to drop off, go back out into the bay and then return to pick up. There were people screaming, shouting and whistling, boats with music playing and 'The Beach'... More

On the surface Maya Bay is exceptionally beautiful. The sand is like white powder, the water is clear and turquoise, and the rock formations are striking. However, the experience of visiting is unpleasant. The crowds are heavy and destroy any atmosphere. Speed boats take up most room on the beach, creating lots of noise and exhaust smells. The noise is... More

We took a trip over to Maya Bay although the weather was miserable and was soaked by the rain on the boat journey over. We made the most of our trip and enjoyed the island in its beauty rain and all. We would have loved to know more about the Island whilst there including "the beach" being filmed there! Whilst... More

Go with Mr Chet from Knock Put Bar! It's better to do this tour from Phi Phi as they get you to Maya bay before the Phuket boats, even then it was still pretty busy! A definite to do though! Looks great with all the long boats lined up
