Clear water and white sand, paradise on earth! Smart to do; go early in the morning before all "tourists"

I cannot recommend the overnight trip to Maya Bay enough. It’s the second time I’ve done this with the only difference being previously we camped on the beach and this time you have to sleep on the boat due to new laws. The cost is 3000 Baht, I couldn’t seem to find it any cheaper anywhere but its worth every... More

To be honest, it is a nice bay with clear water and white sand, picturesque...but over crowded!!! Not even a space to lay down to relax/ enjoy the beach. People walk here and there, screaming loud when take pictures, selfie. I, personally, didnt enjoy it. A couple in the same boat as me for full day trip said they regretted... More

My husband and I visited Koh Phi Phi as a stop in our honeymoon. We decided to take a trip to Maya Bay as part of our stay. I recommend visiting one of the many excursion booths and booking a private long boat tour, this way you can pick your own time frame and have control over your visit. We... More

Maya beach will always be beautiful, I hope. We visited in 2004, nice and quiet. went there yesterday, must have been 50 boats unloading x10 people, looked akin to a beach landing, only more confusing. Will always visit when in this area, such a shame that we all cannot have that quiet personal experience.

I went back in 2012 and the beach was empty with only one other family but this year it was very busy almost no room to swim! But it was still amazingly beautiful! Would always go back!

Pretty beach, known for movies, very crowded, but worth going to. At night you can see fosforising plankton in the water, when you move your body.

Beautiful views on rocks, amazing bay. But really too many people. In past it must have been a paradise.. But still worth your visit.

Way to many people. There should be a limit. The coral in the area is all dead, sea life is suffering too. Would have liked to see it about 20 years ago.

'The Beach' famous from the Dicaprio film is quite beautiful but as it's a huge tourist draw it's chock full of people and boats. Still worth a visit as it is a nice trip, try to tie in some snorkelling and cliff jumping into the excursion. Some beautiful fish around the island and a fun maybe 10m jump. Just remember... More
