full of fast boats, full of people, full of rubbish..... my dream went killed. I felt confused and i will never forget this bad experience. Impossible to swim impossible to go inside the sea.

This place is paradise. Visit on the longtail boats for drop off on the beach. You can see it all in a half day trip without being rushed.

The visit to Maya Bay should be made early in the morning, I suggest leaving the hotel between 6:30 and 7:15, so the site will not be so full of people. One of the things that I believe should be changed is the presence of large boats (speed boats) that in addition to spoiling some of the local hormonia with... More

Maya Bay is indeed beautiful but a bit over rated. Firstly, it is kind of difficult to get there. One has to kayak/ swim/ snorkel from where the boats are anchored to climb on to ropes or if the tide is low, walk through rocks/ corals (they are sharp, so be careful) and after another 5 minute walk you reach... Our trip to Maya Bay was great. We stopped off at a few places including Monkey Beach which was brilliant. However, when we arrived at Maya Bay, the skipper told us the tide was out and that we couldn't reach the beach by boat. So instead he anchored off some cliffs round the back of Maya Bay, where we had... More

We went with an organised tour and were quite disappointed. There were so many people on the beach and in the water that you are barely able to move. If there is a next time we will try to get there really early to avoid the crowds.

Maya bay is definitely GORGEOUS. But if you go, go at 7:30-8 am maximum, since after that the place is filled with boats. We rented a longboat for the day (3000 for 6 hours) but if youre in a large group it is worth paying for a speedboat which was three times more expensive. The only reason I give 3... More

Famous and definitely must see. Visit as early in the morning as possible (best is to rent your own boat with captain, for few people it is affordable and you can visit all the beaches and bays in the whole area, do some snorkelling...) otherwise you will only see thousands of tourists. Forget about relax on the beach and good... More

Had to check out where the movie The Beach was filmed. Very pretty and we went snorkelling just off the beach to the side. Very very busy though, a lot of people and a lot of boats.

Maya Bay is part of the island Phi Phi Le just off the Phi Phi island in Thailand. It is a world tourist destination because the movie BEACH was shot here with Leonardo Di Caprio. Tons of people flock here to take pics and it is really crowded. However it is very small but the water is clear and warm... More
