Oh this amazing amazing bay surrounded by hillocks with a emrald blue pool at the centre. This would be an outworldly experience to spend some quiet time here but its toooooo crowded by day trippers and you would not find a single picture without hordes of people in it. Shame! but one still wouldn't wanna miss.

We stumbled upon Maya bay completely by accident! We hadn't seen a map yet so when we arrived I knew it had to be Maya from its reputation. It really does take your breath away. This was one of the only times in our holiday that we were grateful it was low season. At around 11am the beach was still... More

You probably heard about how crowded it gets, but still wonderfull place and very exiting . All the journey from the main island and the surroundings make it worthy, try to get a private boat for you and your friends , its not much more expensive if you deal with the boat owner, Im happy Ive been there

While the beach itself is beautiful, if you can't pull a boat in close to the shore and have to use the ropes, I would give it a miss. Seriously, I consider myself a somewhat decent swimmer but it was very scary swimming to the ropes and climbing up, especially when there are slower people climbing above you with waves... More

I feel really bad posting a negative review for somewhere that people hold as there 'go to' place. I also held the same view point but the beach is overcrowded with boats and people and, as a result, litter. It's really disappointing as it could be quite beautiful. I wanted so bad to like it but you can find better... More

Horribly traumatic experience getting onto the island! Awful and extremely dangerous!! We were obliged to swim to some makeshift rope ladder attached the sharp rocky cliffside of the island; the sea was rough and waves swept over our heads and pushed us into the rocks. We managed to cling to the rope eventually but were some of many who suffered... More

It's a beautiful beach but with hundreds of other people there and so many boats lined up at the shore it's not so beautiful. If you can get there as early as possible it would probably be a better experience.
