LAW's objective is to relieve the suffering and pain of the animals on the island through sterilisation and care. We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm when our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the shelter. We have lots of friendly dogs who would love a long walk and cats who would like a cuddle! The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting. Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here. « less

I love the fact that someone is looking after the strays on Koh Lanta, a big problem in Asia and refreshing to see some good people making a difference. Head down and take the dogs a walk to help them out!

my partner and I spent this morning at Lanta Animal Welfare; the staff seemed truly dedicated to helping these poor victims of cruelty and torture. We were given a tour by Morten, who clearly showed great compassion for the animals he was caring for. We were amazed at the efficiency of the centre and the environemnt the dogs and cats... More

We visited LAW today during a bit of a rainy patch and were greeted by mewing kittens being led to feeding time. The animals here are loved and cared for as very best LAW can but you can see they need help via donations. We had a wonderful time meeting the staff/volunteers (especially Morten, our tour guide) and the cats... More

dogs have a hard, hard life in thailand. no-one seems to care for them, as a result they become riddled with infections, and are soo skinny from hunger. These people step up to help out the weakest creatures among us. So go visit, and think about leaving a donation on your way out. its incredible, but they have NO official... More

Yes! Please stop by this place if you are on Ko Lanta. Inbetween the food and the beach you might want to feel better by visiting and supporting the people who take care of misplaced animals. Cats and dogs galore! You will have a good time (although the stories of these animals are not so good) But they are better... More

If you´re in Koh Lanta this is a place not to miss! The job they do with animals there is amazing and so well organized. It is well worth a visit and be able to volunteer at the shelter.

You must stop here if you are in Ko Lanta and share your love to support the animals and the staff. The staff are all volunteers and they work extremely hard. We learned a lot during our tour and enjoyed spending the day with animals.
