Owner description: Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta. LAW's objective is to relieve the suffering and pain of the animals on the island through sterilisation and care. We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm when our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the shelter. We have lots of friendly dogs who would love a long walk and cats who would like a cuddle! The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting. Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here.

We read about Lanta Animal Welfare before coming to Koh Lanta. We walked a dog on all but one of our days here. A great way to give back. My daughter also loved petting the cats! We would have adopted, but already have 3 dogs at home. We donated cash though - there is NO push for this, no one... More

We dropped in after we see a little advertisement on our map. Great team of volunteers from all over the world. Lots of friendly free running cats when we arrived, healthy happy dogs with unfortunate backgrounds and a huge adoption rate (many to Europe) great to see!! and no one sticking a donation jar in your face, if you wish... A place where you can cuddle with cats or take a dog out for a walk. Take the tour and see how the animals get the attention and care they deserve. Don't forget to make a donation!

Due to all the good reviews we went to the animal welfare at today's afternoon. I am unbelievable lucky about our decision! This is such a great organization with many unselfish people spending their time for 80 cats and 45 dogs in distress without consideration. We've been early welcomed and got an interesting and heart-warming guided tour by such a... More

We put off going to this place for a few days because we thought it would be a sad place, but we decided to go on our last morning and I am really pleased we did. It was amazing to see the hard work the volunteers do and how well looked after the animals are. You can do a tour... More

This place is a feat in itself, being a volunteer run animal rescue, clinic and shelter in one - in a part of the world not generally known for animal charity. The work they do is certainly not easy, as these guys and girls toil in the tropical heat every day in two shifts to make sure the cats and... More

I'm so glad we went here. Me & my boyfriend visited one morning & even though we got there at 9 (doesn't officially open til 10) they were so kind & said they'd get us a couple of little dogs to walk. You only have to take them for a 15-20 minute walk but it helps them out & there's... More

This place is well worth a visit. They are doing amazing work here, treating many cats and dogs that have been rescued from the streets. A wonderful place to spend a few hours either cuddling cats or walking dogs and just chatting with the volunteers. A heart warming place that is making a real difference on the island of Koh...
