Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta. LAW's objective is to relieve the suffering and pain of the animals on the island through sterilisation and care. We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm when our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the shelter. We have lots of friendly dogs who would love a long walk and cats who would like a cuddle! The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting. Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here.

We went to visit Lanta Animal Welfare while we were staying at Lazy Days. This place is amazing. They do tons of work in sterilizing cats and dogs. It was much needed on the island. They have tours of every hour they are open. You can take a dog for a walk or hang out with the cats and kittens.... More

Had a tour by one of the volunteers so you get to see the whole place. You can go in the dog enclosures and mingle with the various packs; giving them something to do and stimulate them. You can also walk dogs, lounge and mingle with the many cats there. We took a dog, Brownie, for a small walk, she... More

We spent some really nice time here in Lanta Animal Welfare! We came here to walk a dog, and we were given a nice and friendly dog called Buddy who turned out to be a nice companion to spend time with. They also have a lot of cats you can pet, the ones in cages are really thankful for some... More

We visited here and went on one of the hourly tours of the centre. Approx 70 cats and 30 dogs who have been rescued. The work they do in neutering cats and dogs all over the island and other places is fabulous and much needed. The volunteers do a great job here and there are some truly heartbreaking stories. The... The work the volunteers do here is amazing , all the staff are very friendly and informative. Fantastic treatment of all the animals, so lovely to see. Check out the restaurant called Time for Lime as well, all profits go toward the welfare centre! Just to add this centre does no work with elephants, the treatment towards all the animals... More

A wonderful place to visit and a worthy cause to donate (if you want to). Saved my dogs life and have adopted 2 new kittens recently, so now have 2 dogs and 3 cats. Wonderful people who save countless lives in the animal world on and around this island. This is the one true charity on Lanta that needs support... More

I wasn't sure what to expect when we went here. The staff and volunteers were excellent, they truly love all the animals. As an animal nurse back in Canada I was happy and eager to see LAWS. It is clean, well kept, well staffed (which a lot don't actually get paid!) we got a very informative tour. You can donate... More

Visited for an afternoon tour. The organization works hard to ensure proper care for every animal that comes in and to find them an adoptive home if needed. Amazing to see before and after pictures of the dogs and cats that come in. Really heart warming to see. Definitely worth your time to visit if you're an animal lover.
