Description: Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta...
Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta. LAW's objective is to relieve the suffering and pain of the animals on the island through sterilisation and care. We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm when our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the shelter. We have lots of friendly dogs who would love a long walk and cats who would like a cuddle! The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting. Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here.

We went here last year and were so impressed with the work that Animal Welfare do that I wanted to go back this year as well, so I did, twice. I am a big animal lover, dogs in particular, so when you see the work that Animal Welfare do you are in awe of them. They look after the dogs... More

You can tell that the animals are well cared for and that the organization is well run. Well worth going for the tour. It was fun to see and play with the dogs and cats.

Not a sad place at all! Please take some of your holiday time and take one of their nice dogs for a walk! Or come to visit and cuddle with all the kitties! They do such a good work!

Very happy place to be for grown-ups and children alike. Beautiful, friendly kitty cats everywhere. Puppies and older dogs enjoy the visitors' attention. Every cat and dog is up for adoption. Strays are being sterilised. One sterilisation costs 300 baht (about 9 Euro!), so if you can spare a dime, this is the right place to donate.

We visited the centre today and absolutely loved it. Staff were so warm and welcoming and took us on a tour and introduced us to all the animals. We really enjoyed spending time with the animals and giving them loads of love and attention!

We went to LAW for the first time during our second stay in Koh Lanta. The volunteers are really friendly and you can see that the put a lot of effort and their hearts to care for the animals. We took a tour around the facility, played with the dogs and cuddled with cats a bit. The place deserves all... More
