Description: Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta...
Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta. LAW's objective is to relieve the suffering and pain of the animals on the island through sterilisation and care. We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm when our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the shelter. We have lots of friendly dogs who would love a long walk and cats who would like a cuddle! The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting. Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here.

Never seen so many cats hanging out all together in my life! Reps were very friendly and informative. You never felt too rushed when being taken around. One thing I must feel I should mention is we were invited to Lanta Animal Welfare's fundraising event in the evening at a very expensive resort in Long Beach. We went along, but... More

The crew here are doing an excellent job! I read other positive reviews and we decided to ride bikes down to the centre, it was well signposted and easy to find. After an informative tour we took Owen out for a walk and then purchased some items from the shop! Really appreciate all the hard work the volunteers do and... More

Visited this welfare on a relatively 'cloudy' day. Good to see how the volunteers take care of the cats and dogs. Dogs all looked very clean. Cats also. Tour around the welfare was free of charge and made a 300 bht donation afterwards! Also bought a souvenir here. The dogs have very spacious cages and were very happy when we... More

They do an amazing job caring for the stray cats and dogs. It also gives us a chance to take a 4 legged friend for a walk as a company

I will normally happily donate to animal welfare centres but I rarely visit because sometimes it is heartbreaking to see the rescued and often mistreated animals, especially the dogs. However, this centre allows you to turn up and walk the dogs and I love the fact they do this as it can only help with the dogs rehabilitation and I... More

It's really nice to see the effort being made to care for all these animals and educate the locals. The tour lasts about half an hour maybe, but you can hang around for as long as you like to play with the cats. The dogs are all kept in their enclosures but you can take them for walks. It's free,... More

If you love Dogs and Cats Don't miss this. The world would be a nicer place if everyone had the ability to love as unconditionally as a dog.

It warms the soul to see and experience what LAW is doing for animals in Thailand! I got to walk and hang out on a beach with several beautiful and sweet dogs. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
