LAW's objective is to relieve the suffering and pain of the animals on the island through sterilisation and care. We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm when our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the shelter. We have lots of friendly dogs who would love a long walk and cats who would like a cuddle! The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting. Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here. « less

The animals are really well taken care of. They have a guided tour every hour and if you want to you can take a dog for a walk (although not between 12 - 3 PM due to the heat).

What an amazing place. The staff and volunteers do such a wonderful job of helping and caring for the animals. All the animals were well cared for and the staff and volunteers super helpful and willing to answer many questions. If you are visiting Koh Lanta you have to visit LAW, walk a dog, play with cats and kittens and... More

It warms you heart when knowing someone is caring for our four-leged friends like this. Bring money, utilities for cats and dogs or just som love to cuddle with the animals on site for a while. If you are studying to vet. or anythiing related to animals, you would probably be more than welcomed here.

My friend and I had been working on Lanta for a few months when we found a dog (Rottie) on our street with no owner and a gaping hole in her abdomen. We took Rottie down to LAW straight away where they did a quick once over then took her in no problem. Rottie was there for about 5-6 weeks... More

This was our favourite attraction in Koh Lanta. Not only is the work they're doing admirable, the animals were so delightful. Definitely walk the dogs when you're there, and try to feed the cats if you can!

We visited here nearly every morning to go and walk to the dogs before heading off to our activities. When you arrive you are greeted by over 50 cats and kittens who are just desperate for a cuddle and some attention. The tours start on the hour every hour so arrive abit earlier to have a play with the cats.... More

Came here with my friend and was given a tour around the place and a background knowledge of the charity. We then took some dogs for a walk and played with the kittens. Nice to give something back and to help the animals. It looks like the people working there really enjoy what there doing and are doing a great... More
