Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta. LAW's objective is to relieve the suffering and pain of the animals on the island through sterilisation and care. We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm when our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the shelter. We have lots of friendly dogs who would love a long walk and cats who would like a cuddle! The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting. Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here.

We visited the animal welfare centre during the low season in Ko Lanta and were incredibly impressed by all the fantastic work that gets done there. We had an informative tour of the sanctuary and were free to ask as many questions as we wanted. It was lovely to meet the dogs and cats and there is no doubt that... More

A great place to go with kids for 1-3 hours. Tour was informative. Mind your head in places if you are tall. Gentle encouragement was made to adopt an animal and purchase from shop - no pressure. Good trip for a rainy day or to walk a dog on a fine day. Petting, cuddling and walking an animal is fun... More

We visited the rescue center and were told about their history and current operation. Lanta Animal Welfare has really made a difference on the island and they do very important work! Afterwards we got a tour around the center and saw a few of the rescued animals. We also heard how the adoption process works. We got to walk a... More

If you love animals, you must stop by Lanta Animal Welfare. They welcome visitors for a tour, or to just snuggle with some cats or take a sweet dog for a walk. Lanta Animal Welfare is a great place where you can learn about the daily tasks involved in running an animal hospital, meet loads of gorgeous cats and dogs and even play with puppies if you're lucky! You can also walk a dog if you like. All the animals are friendly, vaccinated and most are looking for forever homes. You can... More

When you visit Lanta make sure to stop by the Animal Welfare. They have reduced the idland's stray animals population by vaccinating and taking care of them usingonly donations.

We had such a special day at the shelter visiting all the beautiful animals and wonderful volunteers. We found it really hard to leave and if we weren't leaving Koh Lanta the next morning we would have been back for another visit. They do such an amazing job here and it is so we'll run, such a great cause to... More
